Saka subbed, well and good, but also need to remember he recently bailed us out against Chelsea and Brentford at death with pin point crosses. Problem is our form isn't that of a champion, and winning/ salvaging games at death will go so far. We'll get unstuck like today, once in a while.
Frustrated by Saka and Odegaard display ( Odegaard should have put the game away), and the goalkeeper situation ( 2nd grade Raya). Emmi played a blinder to stifle us.
Ideally, would have put Havertz in the middle, pull GJ to the right and bench Saka; but again, Saka is able to pull the rabbit out of his bag time to time.
Anyway, roll w/ the punches and move on.

Digne is a terrible defender

Saka should have had him on toast.

Not himself (self admittedly) of late

Yup, a player of Saka's ability should be giving Digne roast for dinner!

Saka can’t be pulling rabbits out every game. He needs some relief. If I were manager I’d buy another type of wide forward. A quick right footed player like Theo or Freddie who could burst down the touch line and get behind that way. We need more options in that position.

Needs to up his game.

Take-ons attempted: 14
Successful take ons: 3

Against some Greek falafel seller and Joe Gomez.

He got pocketed.

Saka seems to have lost most of his pace. Needs to learn to ping the ball to the other wing when he is so heavily marked

Tbh Liverpool marked him very well.

But still think he (and Gabi) haven't been their best this season.

Positive since we're still top

He is going through a flat spell hope he comes out of it soon, didn't really offer much at all in this game.

I think you feel like something can happen when he has the ball but really didn’t beat the full backs much, Gomes came on and was playing on the opposite of his natural side so really Saka should have had the beating of him but he struggled to overall.

Definitely agree he’s not as good as last season, none of our forward line is.

Mate half the time he was triple teamed!! How is he going to get past 2 to 3 players all the time?!!

No not always the case, he had a lot of opportunities to run at Gomes one on one he was just a bit too slow to get going with the ball.

Moreover I think if you’re a world class player you need to try and find solutions to problems you’re faced with, whether is be changing position or interchanging more with other players etc.
