I had a close view of that guy number 26. At one point he was marking Saka and he was absolute garbage.

What amaze me about Sevilla yesterday is the lack of tactical awareness.

They didn’t offer anything we’re giving us too much space and yet the manager persisted with this well into the 2nd half not making subs, then we scored again which was just a matter of time.

Same with Martinelli and the full back, you’d at least try to something, if the full back can’t workout he needs to drop off a bit the make sure you instruct him to or double up on Martinelli.

Based on what I saw of them yesterday I’m not surprised they’re struggling, the tactical naivety was astounding.

It was the same in the first game, giving us way too much space, I can’t imagine that manager will last much longer in the job with performances like that.

Sevilla are just the kind of team we love playing against because they don’t try to stop any of our strengths, the manager clearly didn’t do his homework.

We should try him at CF.
Always amazed me there is not more of a call for that.

They played a 4-4-2 with Vini and Rodrygo as the CF while Martinelli was the Left side. All three were interchanging . Only Raphinha was staying in his position at all times in the right . Nothing wrong with Martinelli left side. But I have been saying Martinelli needs to be closer to the goal, he has to work too hard to find space to get a shot off when he is so wide. We can’t be having him be a touch winger in our system … like in 80 percent of each matches ffs.

Yep, he could be a CF too. But in the current Arsenal set up, he's more effective as a mobile forward coming in from the wings.
Actually, he gets more space to operate there, which he won't find in the middle.
His fast dribbles are his strong point for which he needs some space. But, yes, he's a prospective complete forward, who has a little more learning to do.

definitely a good option to cultivate as a CF. His pace won't last forever.

Martinelli currently has fewer league goals (1) than Kai Havertz (2), and his only goal has come from a deflection.

Except Havertz only has two goals because of a pity penalty.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player who was so pathetic and poor that the rest of the team have them a penalty to boost his confidence.

Martinelli on one leg with a blindfold on would still be better and more effective than the flop.
