How was last summer bad?

Not sure if serious

But not getting what we need which in turn costs us top 4 would suggest it wasn't good.

Look at last summer's transfer window thread vote. Majority thought it was bad.

This one we've bought unknowns and a Brazilian welbeck.

Well it wasn't as great as people make out. Of the 5 main signings, 3 were a hit - but one is injury prone, plus 2 flops in Lokonga and Tavares.

Ramsdale great before Xmas. Up and down after it

Tomiyasu great before Xmas. Barely saw him after

White Mr consistency. 6/10 pretty much every game which isn't good enough for some games but is for others

Lokonga and tavares lol

Plus last summer was bad more for who we didn't get and the lack of creativity and goals cost us

I don't think it was bad, but there were a lot of questionable buys.

Could we have stuck with Saliba and Martinez and saved £80mill ?

Keep Guendouzi over Sambi and that's close to £100m.

Martinez

Tomiyasu -- Saliba -- Gabriel -- Tierney

Partey -- Guendouzi -- Odegaard

Saka -- Auba -- Martinelli

Given £100m across Ramsdale / White and Sambi I don't think we strengthened the starting 11 much.

Could have been much smarter.

Pretty much this

Why do I have a horrible feeling that Jesus was the last of our targets that we land?

Just a niggling feeling that our other targets are getting better offers. Raphinha to Chelsea, Martinez to Utd and Tielemans will stay at Leicester. Gnabry will probably end up at Liverpool, and we’ll get the “at least we tried” excuses.

We’ll probably sign a left back to replace Tavares. And hopefully a B2B midfielder as well. Not sure why we are so interested in Martinez unless Gabriel is leaving.

Not surprised you feel this way, we bid 30 million for Raphinha, Leeds valued him at roughly twice that, we were never going to get him at anywhere near that price.

If we were serious about him we’d have gone in closer to the asking price.

Gnabry we don’t seem interested and with Martinez we’re dragging our heels trying to drive the price down allowing anyone else to come in and sign him if they want to.

Teta needs to start developing internal talent like Azeez, Patino, Hutchinson and Flores. Put down the check book and put in a bloody shift.

All four of those kids are developing pretty well. I don't quite think they are ready for PL minutes. Maybe some Europa league games though.

But i guess that's what we had to do to fend off potential competition from the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and Madrid.

they went from

'no-one else was interested in him so he came to us'

to

'its only cause we offered the most amount of money'

the hypocrisy :dontknow:

This low key trolling is getting very tiresome.

You obviously don't come here for discussion, just to purely find angles to WUM, its literally in every post you make.

Every post is some snarkey put down, come back or exaggeration.

I made a post about him coming here and got a load of people saying that he only chose us cause no-one else was interested. I proved you all wrong and once again get labelled a troll for stating facts.

Do you have some sort of fetish for trolls? It's all you ever talk about.

No one else was seriously interested in Jesus, Real want Mbappe and Jesus just isn’t in the same class or the profile of player they want, Chelsea want Sterling (hence their offer and Spurs want Richarlson.

We were the only ones seriously interested and he only came because he’d be playing regularly and we gave him big money.

It went from 'no-one was interested' to 'no-one was seriously interested'

Lmao

Ok then no one else was interested in Jesus that’s why we got him, they all had other players they wanted.

Wrong. Madrid and Chelsea both interested :dontknow:

What facts?

He's chosen us because we offered the highest wages probably by almost double, so they had a point, he would of had suitors but none who would be interested in offering him £220k pw.

It's funny. People initially said no-one else was interested so that's why he chose us, then when it became obvious that other clubs were interested it changed to but we offered the most money hence why he chose us.

The level of hypocrisy lol the best thing is they can't even see it themselves :dontknow:

That’s just hearsay, there’s no concrete proof.

Madrid wanted Mbappe, why would they want Jesus, he’s not the profile of them player they sign, he’s not a top level player, I think this was media rubbish.

Chelsea have always wanted Sterling, not Jesus.

Neither are Tavares or Lokonga and they both played a fair amount last season, and cost us points.

There is this idea rhat we cant give the kids game time because they'll make costly mistakes. I recall seeing Tavares giving away a goal in 3 consecutive PL matches. Why does he get that luxury?

Only Arsenal made an offer .... being "interested" and putting in an offer are not the same.
