The last time I checked, 6th was higher up the table than 8th.

We also finished 8th with shit old deadwood players on high wages, and we now have by far the youngest team in the league, that will inevitably do better year after year.

£150 million .......... for 2 places higher?

Straight back into the Europa.

Our average age is 23, that's coming into prime years, 23 isn't young in sports.

Our apologists keep acting like we're fielding a bunch of 19 yr olds.

Spot on, this young team stuff is just an excuse, 23-24 year olds aren’t that young in football terms.

No but our gk and back four have only played together for 5 months. Give them a season or two and they'll be transformed.

So the last 2 years were what?

Wasted?

We had a decent defensive record last season.

It's the offensive side he's failed to fix after 2 years. Can't waste more years surely?

You know a manager is not up to it when he does not learn.. lets go back to the game against Burnley last season at the Emirates, remember that?! the exact same tactics as last season, the subs made at the same time, the same patterns of play. Arteta has not learned at all

Burnley have came to the Emirates twice and have had an easy ride both times.. they were never in threat, we played their style and right into their hands both times. Arteta has not learned a thing, the game from last season was on loop, dejavu, the only difference was Auba didn't score an own goal as he was not playing, but the game is the same, its all on loop

I remember being so frustrated that he was taking so long to make subs against Burnley last season, and he has done the exact same thing all over again. So tired of it all...

He will learn, BUT it will take time. And I can't blame the fans for wanting to progress faster. We were promised to compete with the likes of Madrid and Bayern for more than a decade.

The defence isn't the problem though.

Tried the exact thing that didn't work last year and expected a different result.

Why did we start pumping crosses into the box when we were never going to out compete Burnley's back 4.

Eddie the tap in merchant comes on an plays on the wing, dropping deep to get possession.

Shocking all around today.

We dominated the ball and created a whole host of chances and took none of them.

Every time we don't win, TICTACS. Armchair experts are out in force telling us what we should have done.

There is only ONE thing we should have done differently - put the ball in the back of the net with the chances we created.

Give it a rest buddy.

No finishing, no final ball.

Arteta has proved he can't put an offense together, he's only good at structuring a defense.

We can't not be able to attack, hapless against a team headed for relegation at the bottom of the league.

Leave the club, chasing a Vlahovic to come and save you yet he doesn't want to come and be a part of your shambles so now your just wasting precious time in the window.

Can't believe the club have allowed Arteta to induldge himself pursuing this shtty formation like he's some sort of cheque book manager who can buy what he needs instead of playing to our strengths.

That was truly a disgusting performance where we only tried properly for one half ................

I'm beyond embarrassed and disappointed, possibly the worst result of the season alongside Brenford and Everton.

Arteta is blatantly a one trick pony and not a very good one either.

Yeah easily deserved the 3pts and would have got them but for some poor finishing.
Ended up being a point gained on the spuds, though :arse fan:

Apparently Chelsea played superb attacking football today .. their xG was 1.01.
We created more than they did.
Difference? Finishing. We need to improve on that.

Yes, because league positions and titles/trophies go on xG Jay
