We came 5th the season before, we were 12th due to extraordinary circumstances, it wasn’t a true reflection of where we actually were as a club, in the same way our position at Chrismas isn’t.

Arteta has managed 8th twice.

So 5th to 8th and 8th again but this time no Europe, that’s actually regression.

Yes we’ve been getting worse. This season it’s the earliest cups exits for years, we’ll have to see where we end up but unless we come 4th progress would be very marginal and not enough after 2 1/2 years in charge.

Klopp had Liverpool flying by then!

The basic facts are:
Took over in 12th.
Finished 8th moving us up the league and won a cup
Finished 8th - stayed static in the league
Likely to finish top 6, maybe top 4.

Nice simple image for you if it's not clear:

Not much more complicated than that - progress since he took over - with a plateau into his second season due a shitty period of 7 games where he was fortunate to keep his job.

This is why I had to call some people out on Tuchel - all the creaming because he took them from 10th to 4th... no mention then that Chelsea were actually 4th the season before. Let's not count that, but lets count it for Arteta and take the season before , not the position he took over in :sneaky2:

No point in shouting ' Arteta Out', as options are very very limited. Great managers like Mou, Anchelotti, Benítez, Van Gaal did bite the dust elsewhere in PL. Mid grade managers Nuno and Unai also fell flat ( all supposedly much better than Teta), Rodgers is tottering, Tuchel can implode any minute and the great Conte rejoiced the 95th minute win like a PL victory ( probably their best few minutes in a decade).
Left are Pep and Klopp who aren't available, unfortunately. And of course there's Ragnick, whom many thought to be the panacea for the great ManU ailment. He's been playing hide and seek, licked heavily from time to time by dear ManU followers. Good luck to him!!
Who's left? Ten Haag or ...any Innie Minnie Lynne Mow, meow meow , all better than Teta and will definitely deliver PL?
By the way, the Conte pathway will most likely be a 5th-6th finish for Spuds followed by a demand for a huge layout, and promptly shown the door by Levy.
We know the story so meanwhile carry on the tit for tat chatters.

Earliest fa cup exit since 17/18
Furthest we have got in the league cup since 17/18

Pretty much, there’s managers of you want them, we never want them and prefer to stick to a losing formula.

Arsenal are set to offer manager Mikel Arteta, 39, a new two-year deal before the end of the season to fend off potential interest from Manchester City. (Mail)

Out of Europe.
Out of the cups.
Out of top four.
Best game is a 1-2 loss at home.

Sing da ting.

This is the one opinion we are on total opposites for.

You REALLY rate Arteta... and to put it very gently.. I really really do not.

I would genuinely get emotional. I would get legit SO happy if I read TODAY that the board found its spine back again and decided to find a replacement for Arteta by the end of the season.

Jayram, please. Our football is SO stale, yes we had an amazing game versus City that we really really really didnt deserve to drop points in not even talking about losing it, even a tie wouldve been a steal for them. But look at the red cards our team has since Arteta was appointed. We got kicked out of the FA Cup... by Nottingham. I dont care how bad Laca is playing, taking him out when you need to score for EDDIE, is just crazy. You cant make this shit up.

Arteta is all over the place. If he gets us in the top 4, I wouldnt be DISGUSTED with another season of him, but EVEN then I would be very happy if he is replaced. Not that he is getting us into the top 4. But I obviously hope I am wrong and he does it.
Wembley:
Community Shield @6-8-'23 = 1*-1 Manchester City

Emirates Stadium:
First game @10-9-'11 = 1 - 0 Swansea
Most memorable game @24-2-'22 = 2 - 1 Wolves
Last game @14-04-'24 = 0 - 2 Aston Villa
Next game @4-05-'24 = VS Bournemouth [ No ticket yet ]

Rewarding failure how the club has reduced standards, I think it's all bollocks its the clown's agent trying to drum up support just in case we miss out on Europe again. Still it keeps the fan boys happy.
