I read Inter were going to offer him 77k a week, makes sense for him to sign a extension for a year or 2 on the wage hes on now unless he wants a new challenge.

Doubt it mate. He could easily get a deal with a mid table premier league or Ligue 1 club and walk away with a 20 mil bonus in his pocket.

Still has value leading the line for a mid table to Europa level side,
See what offers come but in the interim he needs to be used next to spurs that is this sides only 90 min performance to date

If used smartly he could be a handy forward. It’s just that we have never played to his strengths. Neither Wenger, Emery or Arteta could get the best out of him. He would do well back in France. Good luck to him.

It was the same 4-2-3-1 but played like a 4-4-1-1 because of Lacas natural tendancy to attack.

But I agree two central strikers is what we need to keep doing.

I literally said it earlier today that the reason I wanted us to change formation is because Auba is always isolated, laca playing central gives him that needed support.

It just reminds me if the old days where one of the two takes on the playmaker role. He's no Bergkamp but he did a solid job.

Yes but I would also like to see Martinelli and Pepe play that role at some point. Both are decent in the air and not afraid of the physical duels, good work rate, pace and good finishing. But yes, a replacement striker will cost a lot of money.

Pepe is not even close to being tough enough to play in that position.

Martinelli might step up though.

Agree. Pepe would be an awful option as a solo CF and Martinelli would be our best in-house option IMO.

Would’ve signed him up 18 months ago personally...but we all knew that.

Also realised Auba took the pen even with Laca on the pitch, I really don’t like that.

It stinks of prioritising the golden boot for Auba over letting our best taker have the pen and maximising the chance of scoring, I’d argue even Pepe (when on) should be on pens over Auba who’s missed a few now.

Obviously he still put it away in the end yesterday but it’s really something that bugs me.

1 year extension so he and Auba leave the club at the same time.

Yeah, we need to change the way we play if we want to play Pepe as a CF. And I don't want another project restart. And there's no guarantee it will work.

We have to let him go.

Firstly he wants nothing less than a Golden parachute contract for his reitrement and we won't offer him that.

Second, he's playing lights out now because he's putting himself in the shop window, same thing Auba did 2 seasons ago .......... he's playing for that big contract.

Problem is we don't know what fat off the land Laca will look like, we know Auba took a massive dip, AFC won't risk that with Laca.

No, sorry, as much as I love the guy I said with Auba, Ozil and that tw*t Willian, NO MORE huge wage contracts for players 30 and over, nope.
We've been stung way too many times, we're lucky we're not still paying for Willian and that he made a charity move and left us.

Highbury Hillbilly wrote:1 year extension so he and Auba leave the club at the same time.

What makes you think Laca would do that? he's going to be a free agent with offers for no transfer fee, just he gets all the money, why would he sign a one year extension when he's about to get the biggest contract of his career ........... financial suicide if he did so he won't.
