Completely agree but if that was Leno, do you think he'd get a pass from the agenda boys on here?

Leno's shot-stopping was never his problem.
It's not the reason he lost the Number 1 jersey.

I agree he's looking very good and had little chance with their goal. That save though....finger tip! (in the singular)

I guess probably not ......

Tell what I also loved, the sight of Leno clapping the team genuinely at the final whistle, classy player.

Ramsdale himself said he was dissapointed for the goal, he got alot on it.
I said at the time should have done better, made a class save later.
On Leno its all about his work rate now and making improvements to the areas he struggles in,

Have to agree, some aspects of Leno's game are great, shot stopping is def one of his best attributes.

But when you take his overall game as a whole .......... he's a fkin liability.

What's the point of stopping a great shot, just to pick the ball up and roll it into Xhaka who's man marked and they nick the ball and score on us?

........... which has happened multiple times, his distribution is also sht and unassured and he doesn't know when to mix things up and go long which puts our defence under pressure.

There's a reason first Emi now Ramsdale are putting his spot in doubt, he has issues you can't cover up.

No doubt Leno makes some great saves. I can't help but think Leno would have made Ramsdales worldy at 3-1 look easier as well. Ramsdale on the other hand looks so much more organised with the defence. He shouldn't have to save many if the defence are doing their job right. I'd keep Ramsdale no1 for that reason
Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.

I think this is the difference between a good keeper (Leno) and a potentially great keeper (Ramsdale). Ramsdale is capable of pulling off incredible saves more often than Leno and I think he will make fewer mistakes too

The ultimate professional.

Whether he stays or not after this season, I don't know but we can look back on his time fondly.

Best keeper in Emirates era?

I said something similar about Leno when people criticised Leno for not saving shots taken from close range. Could he have done better? Maybe. But inside the box, it's tough to readjust feet, body, dive, get a strong hand so no complaints on the goal.

Think some people need to give a bit more respect to Leno and stop looking for rises from fellow members on the subject, but hey ho, what can you do about that?

Agreed. I think we have the best strength in depth in the keeper position.

Really like this keeper - has an excellent attitude to compliment his top-level ability.
Needs to improve in a couple of areas but he's young.
I think he will be an excellent Number 1 for years to come.
A great signing.
