Nothing wrong with buying from midtable clubs just so long as they have top level talent. When Liverpool bought Mane, Salah, VVD, etc...most would have assumed they overpaid because none came from top level clubs and weren't really on anyone else's radar.

If we get this wrong, someone will lose their job because a lot of trust would have been put in the people choosing these players.

5 £50m players or go 100m on one and spread the rest between the other 4?

Also let's face it the 250m isn't for transfer fees only. It probably includes wages and other crap.

Bring Szchesny back. Get Bernado Silva, Neves, and we are on our way. Can pick up Brandt as well for only £ 21 mil.

When people harp on about lack of available players and who could we get, it makes me laugh. There are dozens of good players out there that ate not at bog clubs that would be great additions, I cannot list them because I am not a football scout. But dont tell me we can't replace the likes of Xhaka and Bellerin easily, for reasonable fees.

Kroenke is never going to give us a penny ever again after this is he?

No wonder AFC went to Barcaly's bank the other other day requesting a loan, true story.

Got to say the players we’re getting linked with are very underwhelming by in large, I’d rather we kept the money and let the next manager spend it.

Arteta isn’t going to last too much longer and his choice of players is shocking, we’re interested in some 4th choice keeper called Woodman from Newcastle now and they want to use him to knock the price down for Willock!

Seems to be what we're looking at:

Maybe different options, but certainly those positions. Would give us depth in every position.

White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???

There hasn't been a lot of movement so far in the window. I don't know if that's something to bring comfort or set off more alarm bells. If we can't get shit done when there isn't much competition.....
