Quite simple he was poor for the majority of the first half and much livelier in the last 5-10 (after his nutmeg) + 2nd half.
Exactly.

I was one of the most dedicated Iwobi haters after Wenger just refused to bench him bad game after bad game. I mean I never wanted him to be sold perse but the amount of game time Wenger gave him infuriated me.

But these days. Damn. What a difference. Dude can't score even if his life depended on it but its nothing but love from me these days.

I love the energy he brings! Great things we're seeing from him.
Wembley:
Community Shield @6-8-'23 = 1*-1 Manchester City

Emirates Stadium:
First game @10-9-'11 = 1 - 0 Swansea
Most memorable game @24-2-'22 = 2 - 1 Wolves
Last game @14-04-'24 = 0 - 2 Aston Villa
Next game @4-05-'24 = VS Bournemouth [ No ticket yet ]

I really don't understand why people think that 'not dominating the game' is the same as being shocking.
He lost the ball so many times in the first half

3 times within 4 minutes ffs

Iwobi was dispossesed 3 times in the game, all of which came in the second half

He had an 80% pass sucess rate, higher than Lacazettee and Mkhitaryan

Agendas though

Not so at all !!! He lost the ball far more in the first half than the second. Don't believe me ? Check the live matchday chat from page 6 I think it was on, here is the link:

https://www.goonersworld.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=32162&start=75

No agendas at all, he lost the ball in quick succession numerous times.

I think the main point is he's doing much better, holding his own and mostly getting the better of the opposition.

Again I didn't like Iwobi, didn't think he had the quality to make it, but his final ball is vastly improved and he's even adding tekkers.

His pass to Ozil for the Lacazette attempt at point blank range is the sort of 1-2 play we need from our midfielders.

So judge him on where he was and its all good news.

He isn't first team quality it's as simple as that. I'm ok with Iwobi being a squad player, but he should not be starting PL games. So many of our attacks break down after he gets the ball it's actually painful to watch. Definitely find it strange how he's been given such a massive opportunity when so many of our other home grown players (some miles better than him) were not.

So?

Everyone was a bit pants until we kicked into gear 10mins before half time. That's still 55 minutes of him bossing it. People are so used to bashing iwobi it's hard to think objectively. We were struggling as a team for the first half by all accounts, but after that he was:

easing pressure off the team
Dribbling past players
Hitting his man on passes
Beating defenders
Absolutely bullying attackers defensively
Causing them all sorts of problems during our build ups

Why so much focus on a few turnovers in 1 third if one match, instead of the beastly display he put out for the remaining 2 thirds?

Iwobi is coming good, soon he's going to start scoring and people will be talking differently about him like they never thought he was terrible.

Zedie trying to be the iwobi hero when nobody said anything other than exactly how his game went.

People are really overhyping him though, he’s better than he was last year and hope he keeps it up but he always had the technical ability and athleticism just his decision making which sucked and is now improving under Emery. Hoping Emery can get him scoring like you say, because a wide forward who doesn’t score is pretty useless in the modern game.

I know m8. I only said that iwobi was shocking the first half and much better 2nd and people still start getting sensitive and shit.

Its not like we said that iwobi was the only player that was shit. The likes of miki etc also got called out.
