Welbeck wasn't bought as back up to anybody, this is a nonsense.
Welbeck was highly rated by AW, hence why we bought him.

Welbs kept getting injured and couldn't produce regular goals, so we brought in more and ended up as a utility player.
Welbs is now not needed other than as depth on the wings.

It's pretty obvious why we needed somebody - anybody - who could fill in for Giroud for a while. Thus, Welbeck became our lad. He was never going to be a goal poacher. He was never going to be even on Giroud's level. He was always going to be a back up option.
Now that we have Aubameyang and Lacazette, we should thank Welbeck for his services and move him on.
It was no excuse. We needed a striker before Giroud got injured

That's not a reason to keep him on for a decade like we did with Wilshere and Diaby. It's a new day at Arsenal. Bye Danny.

[b]Lost his coordination? He had never had much coordination to begin with.

Injuries didn't take away talent he never had. He is a runner.
