People act as if Wenger relegated us and Emery has to bring us back into the top flight. FFS how hard is it to take us from 6th to 4th?

Fifth and Europa final is pretty decent tbh

Ending was shit but we're talking about the season as a whole.

Went from fighting Burnley for 6th to just missing out on CL and from losing to Argentinian allardyce led 10 man team to Europa final.

Huge improvement hence decent. Would've been great if ending wasn't shit but signs are there.

Signs are there? What signs? That this sort of season was on the cards and he's falling apart?

I agree, the ending was a huge disappointment but overall I would say it was a decent season.

Agree that signs were there - but in both directions. Positive signs in performances against our top 6 rivals, negative signs in the dire performances after Christmas and his negative approach and, of course, that collapse.

The end of last season left me with enough optimism to back Emery and give him a fair crack of the whip despite a very bad final third of the season

That good will has drained away because of persistent poor results primarily, but other aspects also, especially the Xhaka farce.

There were no positive signs and none now whatsoever. Even during Unai's unbeaten streak, last season, most games could go either way. There has never been any cohesive strategy or philosophy behind his approach. That's why be it Watford or ManCity, anything can happen. You might score by an individual effort or opponents error, and could scrape through , defending for your life, or could be taken to the cleaners against an incisive attack.
