Who should win next years brit for lifetime achievment award

Postby djaxster » Thu Feb 19, 2009 1:39 pm

After The Pet Shop boys won last night me and my mates have been talking about who should be up for it next year... I strongly believe Madness should win as they are as British as a sunday roast and have influenced a lot of band here and the U.S and have never been recognised for the great songs that they have put out...and they are still doing gigs.
Others that were bought up were Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, The Cure(have they won it before) and Echo and the Bunnymen...
who do you reckon and before you sayit UFGN no Oasis. They are too young( and been shit since Be Here Now :hiding: )

Good shout.

I'd like to see The Smiths be forced to reform to collect this...or just give it to Morrissey. Also like to see A3 scoop it.

I bet there's loads if you sat and thought about it...which is what I'm gonna do.

Morrissey at the Brits, i think Spurs have got more chance of finishing in the top 4 this year.

Depeche Mode is a great nomination.

i think they have to have been in the industry for over 25 years. So it would be bands that have been around since the early 80's but i think they must still be making music or gigging..
The stranglers would be a good choice or even the Clash but i think they may have already won a few years ago

Well he did pose naked for his new single which is very un-morrissey. Still, i won't believe it until i see it.

I'd actually be proper disappointed if he accepted it but it'd be worth it should it force The Smiths to reform.
