StLGooner wrote:So is there a difference to anyone else on here between being a good MC/Lyricist, and being a good rapper, or someone who just produces catchy songs? To me there is, and that is how I rate my rappers, by their lyrical ability, not by the sound of the overall song. Because if I went by just the song and not the lyrical ability, then my list would be different.

Sure there is. That's why to me , Kanye and Tupac shine most as a rapper,MC,lyricist and everything else combined. Nas, Talib Kweli and Q-tip are up there as well. But there are many rappers I really like but don't really feel their lyrics like Biggie and Wu-tang , or don't like their songs but do feel their lyrics like Eminem.

Think I'm bleeding in my chest directly due to this statement.

Haha can't discuss taste, right? ;)

"Only one single copy of Once Upon A Time In Shaolin was ever to be made. This has been the case since the very first announcement. A commercial release was never planned. The right to commercialize it, meaning the right to sell it en mass to the public in any form is not allowed until 88 years from now.

If the public rights were handed over now, then this would be a record deal like any other. Not the sale of a single copy. It can be exhibited publically and it can be given away for free. But it cannot be commercialized as a conventional album release until 2103. Even then, it will be the owner's decision to release it or keep it as a single unit, not the Wu-Tang."

So who's going to stay alive with me for another 88 years?

There is no greatest rapper. There are so many legendary rappers that are always being debated about being the best on the mic, and no I am not talking about Biggie/Pac. While both great rappers (Pac my fav. of all time) but rappers like KRS-One, Immortal Technique, Tech N9ne are one of the most intelligent and skillfull on the mic imo. I could never name one.

A top 5/10 list would be better.

Piss off.

He's sick but he's only dropped 1 massive album.

Whilst I disagree it'd still be 1 more than Drake. Seriously what is wrong with people listing him amongst the all time greats? :rofll: Or is this another piss-take like listing Heskey amongst the greatest ever strikers? I sincerely hope it is.
