if you are into rap from right now i can suggest:
Chance the Rapper (most people hate him, i think he is an artist, he has a completely new way of understanding the craft)
Milo (his new solo effort is available on bandcamp, incredible) http://hellfyreclub.bandcamp.com/album/a-toothpaste-suburb
Shabazz Palaces (again, one of the most amazing things that is happen to rap atm)
Open Mike Eagle
Pusha T (his flow and topics are incredible, careful with production, he is surrounded by too many assholes (West, WILLIAM), he last record has 3 amazing songs and the rest is shit. (suicide, Nosetalgia, numbers on the boards)
Earl Sweatshirt.

Good shout with Open Mike Eagle - used to help small amounts with his management co.

enough about me... any fans of Tyler The Creator?

Ain't nobody ever going to touch Wu Tang.

36 chambers, Forever, Ironman, Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords are masterpieces.

Pac is without a doubt the greatest rapper to have ever lived. Imo there's only one that comes a little close and thats Kanye West. Put aside all the negativity about his image and what not , but his music is quality and makes everyone else's sound old. Honourable mention for Nas , Talib Kweli , Q-tip and Wu-tang clan.

Tupac nowhere near the top 10 for me. Kanye is a better producer than he is a rapper. Eminem hasn't put out a worthwhile album since the turn of the century.

MF DOOM is undoubtedly the best of all time for me but I'm enjoying listening to Run the Jewels at the minute. El-P and Killer Mike make a great combo.

Been listening to Kendrick Lamar constantly for the last 7 days. Guy is insanely talented. Him and Joey Badass are probably the saviours of mainstream hip hop.

Have you heard Blacker the berry?

I can't wait for his new album. His last was pretty big but I think this will be a classic.

Multiple levels to that tune. Worst thing is that 70% off the people who listen to it miss the message by simply not opening their ears.

Not much love for Biggie in here, easily top 3 of all time.

He had the greatest flow of all time.

Agreed, Biggie brought a sense of wit and dark humour in his lyrics that were sorely missing from the hustler rap of the 90s. Used to love 2pac as a teen, but Biggie stands the test of time. Ready to Die has fantastic production, lyrics, flow, everything.
