They just don’t make music like this anymore.

Yeah I agree.

There were loads and loads of proper bands in those days as well. Musicians with something to offer - not manufactured garbage.

"You young whippersnappers get off my lawn!"

I may be extremely biased since they're my favorite band, but give Portugal. The Man a listen.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard of them LMAO, but will check em out.

The thing about Elton (back in the day) was that Bernie Taupin would drop some lyrics on him, he’d sit down at the piano and literally within half an hour ( mostly) he’d have come up with songs like Candle in the wind and Rocket Man.....songs that still get played relentlessly.

Mind you there was some right old shit as well
David soul etc( should have stayed as hutch)
The pistols had not long been on the today programme( missed it I was at qpr watching us get knocked out the league cup)
It rendered a lot of the mid seventys stuff redundant
But these tunes are solid and bullet proof and outside of the pistols singles from that debut album which still have an energy they crashed and burned badly
Same with the gunners
Bradys sweet left foot and supermac
and Stapleton
But there was also John Matthews and pat Howard
But terry Neil was about to turn us into a cup force
I also had an impending Mediterranean cruise coming up on the ss Uganda with Highbury grove school
140 pound for a fortnight
Back to music though
I had an uncle who was 6 years older than me so was a huge musical influence
Even though I was only 13 I was listening to the likes of Rory Gallagher
He was always on radio 1 in concert and he used to blow everyone away
Sounds a bit lumpen now

No he isn't, maybe the worst voice I've ever heard.

And who the fvck is Lil Nas?

The audacity to name yourself that.
