Michael Stipe.

He's suffered with mental health issues at times. He's also vehemently anti-gun and left wing in his views - so if your mate was wearing a Trump hat that's probably why.

I saw him on this tour. Blew. My. Mind.

LOVED his first four albums. Far Better than singer than Jacko.

combining blues funk, soul, rock . Even if he had an ego. He backed it up with the work imo.

Evening phil.. have you heard field music's version of Roxy's if there is something?
It doesn't quite warrant a place in the covers that were better thread but they give it a damn good go

Tin machine had a crack at it on there 2nd album
Crimes against music is probably a bit harsh but david and co really do not trouble the scorer

As for virginia plain.... absolute cracker like bowie it sounded like it came from another planet... dont know if it's been expunged now but jimmy savile introduced them on top of the pops.. silver machine Hawkwind and motts all the young dudes was on the same show.... god we never had it so good. I like the early Roxy Music stuff. Not such a fan of the later stuff or Ferry on his own - although he was still a real style icon in the early 80s. I think some guy in the 70s described him as an example of living art.

Great times for music. Bowie, Roxy Music, T Rex, Thin Lizzy, Free, early Elton John, early Rod Stewart...

All the girls loved David Cassidy, the Osmonds and David Essex.

Dick Emery! I loved the randy old dear with the glasses.
