Your music's shit and you're generation's a fuckin musical disgrace

Come at me

I get what you are saying but having seen the arctic monkeys a few times I would say they are probably the best live band I have ever seen
I also loved the primitive visceral experience that was seeing the white stripes live
I am 55
Ps Phil Collins was off his tits when genesis made the lamb lies down on Broadway
Pps I never liked genesis
Ppps having seen the lemon twigs last November I have to say they were a bit of a mess
Their is a very good band in there( I like the debut album because of its many ideas) but live. You can see they definatly need a bit of self editing.
They are supporting arctic monkeys at their 02 gigs
But despite having loads of people on the case
None of us got tickets

Exceptions to the rule though. I love the Arctics but there's so few others. And it's not like I don't try to find stuff. Also Arctics released their first album 12 years ago

I thought Libertines were even better live by the way

I didn't like Arctic monkeys at first ( I thought it was a gimmick) I didn't realise what a fantastic songwriter Alex turner was.
I can't believe I was so wrong
Funny enough it was during a soccer am where they played when the sun goes down over some football clips when I suddenly got it.
I like the libertines but the one time I saw them was at the reading festival in 2003 and they were a tuneless mess( maybe an off night?)
Great line up that year with blur headlining
White stripes pulled out coz meg hurt her hand
Black rebel motorcycle club stood in and did a storming version of the hardest button to button( some members are playing in jack whites current touring band)
Beck
Doves
The streets
Junior senior( move your feet was the song of that summer)
The sleepy Jackson
The thrills also played in the radio one tent( so much for the city was such a good album but they just disappeared )
I know that's 15 years ago but there is still some good stuff about
It struggles to get a hearing but stations like 6 music and people like sean rowley still manage to unearth a few gems.
Ps
If zenith is about can you post bmrc covering hardest button to button just found it on you tube. Thanks mate

That is a very good line up and I feel around the first half of the noughties there was a real good set of talented bands. But not now.

I like BRMC a lot and the Thrills first album is excellent. I liked the Streets as well

Beck I saw at 1997 V Festival. He was second on the bill behind the prodigy and he was that good that if he'd been headlining I'd have been happy with just that.

I was lucky to see the Prodgy twice that year and they were unbelievable live. The other time was at a night club in Stratford. Prodigy still play sometimes by the way.

A slow burner but it is really growing on me
Some were disappointed that it actually lacked bangers
But I think you are right
4 out of 5 is just that
Of coarse Alex turners reference points have changed and they are reflected in these songs
But it goes to show even more that he knows his way around a lyric

Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto no 1

The first movement is musical perfection

Pure adrenaline. What a tune. Russian composers are the best

Been reading springteen,s autobiography
He says he used the big o's vocal stylings as one of his influences for born to run
Once furnished with that knowledge it becomes pretty obvious
