Black Betty is a rock classic in my opinion.

From an era when bands sold records just because they were great and radio stations wanted to play them.

Great record.

This takes me back. I remember dancing to this in a club in Amsterdam in the early 90s.

Early 90s I would have been stood in a motorcycle clubhouse and that shite wouldn't have got in the door, roll on to mid 90s and that shite would have it's own marquee tent at the same clubhouse playing dance music to hundreds of sheila's on E and the white gold dancing all night.

Takes me back to Charlie Brown's in Tottenham.

Sheila & B Devotion collaborating with the great Nile Rodgers. His Stratocaster lead can be heard in so many disco and dance tracks.

Do you know mate. I’m not sure if I ever went to Charlie browns . I remember going to eltons and the Tottenham Mayfair. I was playing for a pub football team and we used to train and go out on a Thursday night. I was only 16
I remember you were just as likely to hear daytrip to Bangor as you were rappers delight, and the beat goes on or we got the funk

Yeah I did Eltons and the Mayfair. Previously it was the Tottenham Royal. Went on to become Ritzy.

Eltons was my haunt in the early 80s. Was the Spread Eagle pub before that.

Eddie Cochran - Somethin' Else

Pure bare rockabilly. Fantastic.

I never knew that Eddie died in a car crash in England. Feels like something I should have known. 21 years old. Shocking..... Him and Buddy both gone before they had a chance to get going. SMH
