Arsene is that you?

Blood Orange’s “Negro Swan” is well worth a listen to if anyone’s heard of it

Skunk Anansie

You'll Follow Me Down

Fuckin hell if Skunk Anansie had their time over again now, they'd be superstars. In this era which prizes singers so highly, their singer
"Skin" was better than anyone around now

New Muse album anyone? My friend liked all of it except the singles.

I've only listened once but thought it was nothing special

Agree. Simulation Theory is pretty average.
That's what I call a great website! Nothing is better than its virtual games. I just fancy myself with playing https://mega-moolah-play.com/online-casinos. I'm doing it right now!

I want to get into The Rolling Stones but their vast back catalogue is intimidating.

What are some good albums to start with for a Stones newbie?

(Looking at you UFGN, Starman and Zenith)

There's no doubt their back catalogue is intimidating. I'm afraid I'm not a good man to ask because I did that some time ago and decided it wasn't worth the effort I'd put in. The Stones made some wonderful tunes but I'd say only about 10 -15 stand out for me and they have hundreds

If you want a classic band which gives a lot back.... Led Zeppelin. Only five or six albums and the hit rate is phenomenal

I thought the Stones appealed to everyone? Their music is extremely accessible, they have some of the best instrumentation of all the great rock bands imo (even though I haven't heard all of their stuff, obviously).

Mick did a great job of fusing the sounds of English and American rock together.

I'm familiar with their hits, but as is the case with most artists some of the greatest works are the lesser known ones buried deep in the discography.

Listened to some of Sticky Fingers earlier and was blown away by 'Sway' and 'Sister Morphene', I just want to discover more of their hidden gems.

Plus they are one of the greatest bands ever so immersing myself in their back catalogue can only be a good thing.

@UFGN

I'm already quite familiar with Zeppelin as my mom is a huge fan.

VaVa what I would suggest is use the hits you like as a reference point. Listen to their greatest hits, then use Wiki and find out which original albums they are from. If you find you like two or more from the same album then listen to the rest of that album

One of my all time favourite musicians, Warren Haynes with his band Govt Mule.

Personally I think he does this better than the original artists, Lynrd Skynrd.
