Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds

Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds

Anyone else absolutely love this timeless classic?

Here is the opening 10 minutes or so for those who haven't had the pleasure

and the best bit (in my opinion)

I also have the live dvd. In my opinion, this is a work of absolute genius.

How did I miss this thread? (Drunk probably!)

Absolutely love it, years ahead of it's time and with a galaxy of stars involved.

I bought the double album when it first came out, and now have the CD version which has a regular outing.

Fantastic album, I love Richard Burton in it.

Have you seen the stage show?

I saw it on TV last year, Its an exact lift of the album with Burton super imposed as giant head. Very good, would love to see it live, its in Cardiff later this year but a bit expensive for me.

Yeah mate, I have the live dvd, absolutely superb!

SE - You're right mate, years ahead of its time. A really underrated classic. It's amazing how many people have never heard of it

I've heard about the stage show, but never got around to going..... Yet!

Certainly one for the future.

First listened to it properly in the car back from Nottingham before Xmas last year. Reckon i've listened to it through about 15 times since, absolutely love it.

My old man is off to see the live show again this year, but I turned down the chance of a ticket. Itching to get hold of one now though.

Mrs 'Peter' who does not read this site, out of the blue yesterday asked if I fancied going to see War of the Worlds live. I have just gone on line and got 2 tickets to see the show in Cardiff in June. Cant wait.
