I love House, funniest thing was randomly seeing it on CH5 and up pops Billy from Neighbours. Glad to see our Bill overcame his dyslexia and became a doctor

The only show that I actually bother to make time to sit down for.
Love Hugh and I'd watch anything with him in it.
Also love Jennifer Morrison.... mmmmmmm... :sneaky2:

I think they're somewhere around $40 per season here for the box sets.

edit: whoa, I was right

Great series.

But why does every patient regardless of the symptons need a 'lumber puncture'

Well...
using the spinal fluid they collect they will be able to ascertain if there is any form of infection and narrow down the possibilities...

And someone at some point always suggests that 'Lupus' is probably the cause of all the symptoms.
That's my only criticism of the show.
It follows a precise formula every week.

1. Patient comes in with strange symptoms - the team work out what's wrong then start treating him/her.
2. Patient goes into total 'crash' mode and needs to be revived then bleeds from somewhere unusual.
3. The team then realise it's not the disease that they first expected and go back to the drawing board.
4. This is followed by plenty of arguments about possible diagnoses and possible cures.
5. Cut to sub-plot involving the friendship between House and Wilson and possibly another plot which usually involves sex or romance in some way.
6. Back to the patient who is displaying a new and disturbing symptom which means that someone has to break into his house to see what's causing it.
7. The patient rapidly deteriorates and someone has to tell the family that he/she is dying, but the family's secrets/religious views/stubbornness get in the way of administering the cure.
8. House tries to persuade/trick the family into giving consent for the surgery.
9. The patient is prepped for surgery but just as he/she is about to go in House has a 'Eureka' moment which always comes to him in a non-medical conversation with Wilson as Wilson makes a throwaway remark about something totally irrelevant.
10. House rushes to the operating theatre and stops the surgery just in time. He tells all the doctors and the family what the illness REALLY is and says that it can be cured with a couple of aspirin.
11. Cue cheesy smiles from all the family and patient.
12. Show ends with House having learnt something profound about himself through his friendship with Wilson or Cameron or whoever.

Still love it though...
