No, no, no and no! I hate remakes like this. The same was done with Shameless and it was crap. The original inbetweeners is brilliant (and Shameless).

The only Brit rip off i thought was decent was the American Office. Other than that?

There's a British Shameless?

I don't know why they don't just broadcast the original. I'm sure people would still get the jokes/understand their accents.

The Neil character is completely different, it's just weird. And Will is supposed to be a specky nerd.

You guys are taking this too seriously, this is MTv, the same people that brought us the gems that are "The Jersey Shore," "Teen Mom," and a litany of other garbage. They're target market is mildly retarded 14 year old kids. They hire the cheapest actors they can find and churn out shite as quickly as the kiddies will buy it. And no, their market probably wouldn't get any English cultural reference.

Why do the yanks have to make their own versions of shows? Do they think that people won't understand the accents or something?
To the Americans here, do people actually like these remakes? I can't think of one that's even close to as good as the original.

The only one that I can recall being really well received is The Office, but they used good actors and the first episodes were almost word for word the same.

They made an American Top Gear a couple of years ago, mind you this is after having years of Top Gear on BBC America... and it is absolute shit. The hosts have no personality in comparison, and they do almost all the same "stunts" the did 6 years ago in England.

I bet there is a fair share of people who don't even know they are remakes.

Don't doubt that at all, I bet most Office fans don't even know it's a remake...
