Game of Thrones

Yep weird ending. I feel like this whole season was rushed to get to the end. Like everyone working on it was just tired and wanted to get on with the rest of their lives after GOT. This last season didn't do any kind of justice to the whole series. Kind of sad really.

Absolute garbage ending! So disappointing... to what has been an epic series. Since they've passed the books it's been a slow, slow fall into mediocrity.

SPOILERS*****

Very loyal to the show but that wrap up didn't work on so many levels.

Likes:
They broke the wheel in how they select a new ruler
Jon and Ghosts moment
Jon leading the free folk
Sansa declaring North Independence and being queen
Brienne as Kings Guard
Podg as a Knight

Dislikes
Bran as f***ing King -
Sam leaving his home (Gilly and Jon) to work in Kingslanding
Bronn happily brought into the fold again
The scene where they where having a meeting about rebuilding Kingslanding (terrible script writing)
The death of Dany (actual scene)
The dragon flying off not to be scene or heard of again
Arya deciding to sail where no one has ever gone even though the Iron Born sail all around the world constantly??
Greyworm releasing Jon/Tyrion the way he did
Not filming the arrest of Jon Snow by the unsullied
Jon's actual birth right not meaning anything to anyone after all that
Remarkable how Red Keep looked so well so quick
Many many more.....

To be fair this isn't the first time they chose a new ruler by forming a Great Council. It happened two times before according to lore.

Why did the shorten the series again? After watching the finale it definitely felt as though they needed more episodes to tidy up the series.

Well, they had to wrap it up and they mostly did. I thought it would leave a lot more loose ends but despite them being a bit unbelievable, it mostly achieved it. A bit of a sour taste on Jon Snow’s demise, but can’t have it all.

Apart from a few excellent scenes and some good writing finally for Tyrion that was an awful ending for many reasons.

Apart from the many things mentioned here and around social media you can't ignore that the number one powerhouse of the remaining kingdoms is Dorne. They hardly lost anyone. You think the new prince of Dorne would say nothing when they accept a ruler from a Kingdom that gets given their independence from the now 6 kingdoms while not getting it themselves or any benefit. He would have a say, even just to lay a position, and with the biggest army, the most access to food and probably the most money you can be sure that Dorne would have an extremely powerful seat on the small council, as would the Iron islands. Yet the small council is Bronn (who has no money after Jamie stole it all from highgarden and slaughtered everyone), Sam (who lets face it is not qualified to be arch maester) and Davos who is qualified but is not in a senior position. No way would they just trundle off home and wait to be called, the vale too has loads of political power as they have a full army, full population and resources. I am not saying they would be enemies, quite the opposite but they would still play the game of thrones and they would be the major players. The whole thing was fan service and not being true to the world G.R.R.M created.

Also sad the last scene wasn't Drogon flying over old Valyria where I imagine he would go to live, if you are going to give fan service don't forget a nod to Drogon.

HBO offered them 10 fully funded, full length, fully fleshed out seasons but the writers/producers said no as they signed up to Star Wars and this is the result.

So Disney and Star Wars had a hand in messing this up. Lol. Unbelievable. Well, instead of rewatching the series I'll read the books. GRRM must have told the TV writers the vision for how this will end but the execution was just sloppy and missing the details.

After thinking about Bran being King now, it kind of completes the series full circle and makes sense a bit. Jamie and Cersie tried to kill him in the first episode, which changed the course of the whole show and his life of course, so it was kind of fitting that he sit on the throne at the end, and ironic.

Yes, it is ironic, but most of the people are not satisfied with the end because they want some sort of happy end.

******SPOILERS********

Something I've been wondering... Is Bran actually the most cunning and evil character in the whole series? This guy can see everything in the past and present and he can also see parts of the future. He was the one that told Sam that it's "time to tell Jon" about his lineage which was the thing that basically triggered Danny and began her downwards spiral into a mental breakdown. Other than that Jon's lineage played no part in the story. He could've counseled her on Euron's fleet ambushing them at Dragonstone which would've saved Missandei and the dragon.

Also, didn't he have a long conversation with Tyrion before the Winterfell fight by the fireplace. The same guy who recommended him to be king at the council meeting and then got to be his hand?

Perhaps during their conversation at Winterfell Bran told Tyrion he calculated every outcome Doctor Strange style and saw this one as the long term best solution for the people of the Westeros? I don't know, even with D&D being clowns i can't see it as a coincidence that the only character who can see the future not only let this play out the way it did but basically put this whole thing into motion. He is undoubtedly the only character that could've prevented the King's Landing massacre.

*********Spoilers*********

So I'm new to GoT, just finished watching it and started watching it about a 2-3 weeks ago.

I really liked it, pissed off that Daenerys was killed by that self righteous tw*t Jon Snow.

She'd been betrayed and let down by everyone her whole life starting with her brother and ending with Jon, the only people who were ever loyal was her original lot she started out with including the Unsullied, they never wavered......... she should of just stuck with them.

Everyone she let into her circle from Westeros had their own agenda's which eventually led to her downfall, she was too trusting and her final scene showed that.

They didn't want her to turn into the manipulative, cruel and calculating rulers they were used to in Kings Landing ........ yet it was that very difference (she wore her heart on her sleeve and was ignorant of politics) which is why she let people close to her who would kill her.

I did quite like the contrast of attitude of service between the two cultures of Westeros compared to the Dothraki lands across the sea.

Anyway favourite characters in the show were Daenerys and Arya.

Also .......... I don't get why people had an issue with the show's ending.

I thought it was fine.
