Reputation etc. Would have been destroyed if people tried to do c*** moves like simply kill the opposing king / queen.
Its plausible because shit like that meetup happened in real life.

Yeah but this is Cersei. the one who burned down the citadel to kill her enemies. The one who pledged to send her army to fight the dead. She has the key to winning the whole war right in front of her and she doesn't just take it. It's out of character. She's not an honourable person, that's kind of the whole point behind her character.
