Enjoyed Queens Gambit and now need to check out those other recommendations.

Watch Bosch you won't be disapointed.

I’ll give it a go Nuggets!

Finished S1 at the weekend Nuggets and enjoyed it. Its a bit formulaic american cop stuff, but better than a lot of similar stuff out there.

It's a lot of dumb fun about conspiracy theories.

Gone Fishing with Paul Whitehouse & Bob Mortimer.

On the 4th series of this now. Paul teaches Bob how to fish in some of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of the UK.

Love it.

Trailer has just been released for Wheel of Time.
Interesting if you like this kind of genre.
I read it's the most expensive TV series ever made.

Pacific on Sky box sets. Its a follow up to Band of Brothers and put together by Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks. It focusses on the pacific island battles with the Japs in 1943...doesn't hold back either.

We don't know how lucky we are sometimes, seeing what these guys went through back then. Fighting in a dark jungle, in pissing rain with very little to eat, terrible dysentry and death hanging over you relentlessly.

Dunno. Haven't seen it, it's not out yet. I will probably watch the first couple of episodes.
Just hugely expensive - I think Bezos wanted a GoT for Amazon and has thrown a fortune at it.

In the middle of watching that with the wife. I've seen it before but she hasn't and she loved band of brothers.

This isn't as good but still pretty good. Let's face it. WW2 is all about what happened in Europe.

Same people are making a third series. Masters of the air. Should be out before this year ends

The Pacific War is sometimes more interesting than the European theater. While Hitler was trying to bring about Lebensraum, Japan was off having its own expansionist adventures with the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Honestly, the Empire of Japan gets a big pass from Europe when it comes to WW2 that Nazi Germany doesn't. They were some evil bastards too. There's stuff like Unit 731 making what Mengele and co. did look like child's play and the Rape of Nanjing.

But yeah, Japan really messed up at Pearl Harbor. They tried to break the American spirit into ending its oil embargo on Japan and stopping the US from getting in their way in SE Asia, but all they got for their troubles was Tokyo being reduced to ashes and two cities glassed.

Just watched episode 3. Basically said what you just did. Japan f***ked up pearl harbor and all but 3 of the ships that were hit were repaired fully.

Didn't know about nanjing until this episode. c****. I knew Japan had invaded China but not in detail.

Episode 4 next. Battle of midway. Seen the film. That's all I know about it
