The Connecticut Haunting

Postby TheLittleMozart » Mon Mar 16, 2009 6:42 pm

Based on a true story, The Haunting in Connecticut charts one family's real-life encounter with the dark forces of the supernatural. When the Campbell family moves to upstate Connecticut, they soon learn that their charming Victorian home has a disturbing history: not only was the house a transformed funeral parlor where inconceivable acts occurred, but the owner's clairvoyant son Jonah served as a demonic messenger, providing a gateway for spiritual entities to crossover. Now unspeakable terror awaits when Jonah, the boy who communicated with the dead, returns to unleash horror on the innocent and unsuspecting family

Looks really good! I don't normally watch horror films, cos I prefer comedies, but I love paranormal stuff.

The fact that it will be without an ageing scouser who reckons everyone has been 'mehrrdered' and always channels any and every spirit available (no matter where they are) in a scouse accent is a big plus.

On a side note, has anyone seen El Orfanato? I know it's meant to be a horror film, but I thought it was really funny.

Its only PG 13, I wouldn't exactly class it as a horror.

Fabrestuta, your avatar is giving me a headache... I like it!

It's just a genre. Like Shallow Hal is supposedly a comedy.

Just something is an 18 or 15 dosnt automatically make it a decent horror film.
Its only probably a PG13 becuase theres no naked chicked running about and the violence isn't that gory.

Agreed mate. Most "horror" movies these days overcompensate by piling on the gore. The old style movies that provide genuine scares are few and far between these days, sadly.

Truedat mate. These days most horror film makers seem to think that tons of gore = scary film, when really its probably the opposite becuase it becomes more of a comedy instead!

Anyway. I just saw an advert for it and its a 15. So he was spouting sheeeeeiiite!

Well, there've been loads of class horrors rated 15.

John Carpenter's classic "The Fog" springs to mind
