No and i not going too. They have f***ked this up just like they did with Highlander. First 2 films ok then they bring out a shitty series and then a new film ... What is this Star Trek or something.... No Arnie No Terminator. Sorry.

s this a prequel, sequel, or reboot?

It's [kind of] all of them combined: it's not exactly a complete reboot in the sense of Batman Begins and Casino Royale, but it's one in that it's a new beginning because it's radically different from the previous films, abandoning the "Terminators and people go back in time" format, so it merely has the "feel" of a reboot; it's a sequel in that it continues from T3 (McG: "We do honor Judgment Day as articulated in 'T3.'*); and it's a prequel in that it also takes place before Kyle was sent back in the first film (Q: Did the time traveling events of the past movies affect the future so that the timeline that Kyle Reese came from in the first film no longer exists? McG: No.*).

How can it be a prequel and a sequel? That's just weird.
This is going to confuse the shit out of a lot of people I think....

As you said Fordy, they can keep going on with this one forever as the events of the past change the course of the future.

it's a sequel because its after the last 3 and it's a prequel because its set before the terminators got sent back to kill him

so say it 2012 in the film its after the last 3 but its before 2020 when arnie got sent back to kill him

i know the years are not right lol

That sounds like a prequel to me.
Not sure I understand it though. The Star Wars films were made after the first 3 but they were still prequels because they were set before the first 3 time-wise.

the reason its a prequel is because the terminators in this film are not as advanced as the ones you have seen in the other films so they are easier to kill but there will be a lot more of them i imagine

in this one skynet as just started so its not built the super killing ones yet

Seen this last night and I absolutley loved it.
Although there was pretty much hee-haw character development, still a great action packed film.

What I didnt understand was that, how could O'Conners dad be younger than him?!

Just watched it and i cannot believe the criticism, it is brilliant.

The post apocalyptic environment is really well done, the atmosphere is exactly as it should be. It is early days so the world isn't as messed up as the one in Kyle's dreams in the first terminator but you get the sense of the struggle and the state of the world and of course knowing how it is going to become.

The acting was great too, Christian Bale didn't overact like he can be prone to do and the guy who played Marcus was class too.

I won't write any spoilers but i will say i loved the whole film and even the slightly far fetched aspects of the final third didn't bother me at all. I cannot wait for the next one.

Have you seen the first one?
