When I was a wee laddie these were the films that scared me shitless:

Jaws - After that film it took all the courage I could muster to go to the seaside

The Fog - Nightfall, air so thick you couldn't see your bootlaces, men stalking a town in funny costumes and slaying folk with machetes... Not my idea of wanting to be beside the seaside

Alien - that scene. John Hurt swallows a dodgy chilli. We've all been there, devoured a chilli, the false sence of security, the delayed reaction, then BANG, stomach churns and the little fecker bursts out, leaving prey stricken, convulsing, intestines dripping from the walls and little blighter shoots off to begin its festival of gruesome horror. Absolute classic cinematic sequence. Say no more!

Yeah, I wasn't remotely interested mate. Just tried to pay attention because it was one of her favorite horror flicks. Didn't turn out too well that. :P

when i was a little tacker it was jaws , at the same time there was a movie called blood beach . some critters lived under the sand and sucked you down and ate ya . i was around 8 to 10 years of age and watched both fillums with my older cousins . so here i was thinkin that i would be eaten if i stayed on the sand or f***ing jaws would chomp me if i went into the water . it kept me well away from the beach for many a year :rofll:

these days i love all scary movies , the best bits are when the poor helpless victim is by themselves somewhere dark and you know the killer is about to jmp out anytime . i am ready for it and the adrenaline is pumping thru me . then when the killer finally jumps out i jump 10 ft off me chair and have been known to squeal on occasions , but i loves it i do . i love having the be-jesus scared outta me , it makes me feel alive :dizzy:

I see no other films than "The Exorcist" able to compete in this category!! :hiding:

The ORIGINAL version of 1973 (shame on Friedkin for having ruined his masterpiece with the "unrated" version release in 2000!! ) is as terrifying as fascinating and disturbing than any other movie, even if some of the SFX badly get old!!

It's not only a film about an "evil spirit",it's a psychological drama about the differents kinds of evil that could concerned everyone (and everyone's family) someday...but let's hope not!!

Anyway this is the main reason why this movie still a masterpiece even after all this years!!

Behind "The Exorcist",which for me still untouchable,I would name others great chilling moments with the likes of "The Others","The Omen","Alien","The howling","The Thing","Night of the living dead","Carrie","Prince of darkness","Evil dead","Blair witch project"...and so many others which I did not remember!! :hiding:
