trailer is lookin hot. The action looks great, and probably gonna be better than most hand to hand marvel films. But just like Age Of Ultron, they're clearly gonna had jokes into this movie. Show the spoiler
Taskmaster looks okay imo. Defiinitly excited for Black Widow

not better than Goodfellas or Casino by any stretch of the imagination. However, with that being said, it is still a very, very good movie.

Yeah, his addition, updated a bit, makes sense and should be good.

Just watched it last night. I thought it was ok. This type of movie has been done too many times for me. It's all the same shit in the end, bad guys killing bad guys. We get it, the mob was bad and controlled a lot of shit. Just kind of boring for me, but I'm sure it will win a lot of awards because of who's in it.

It does take way too long getting going, but the last hour is really excellent. While some say it's derivative of Goodfellas/Casino, it's actually more derivative of The Wolf Of Wall Street, particularly in the ending.

Like " The Wolf Of Wall Street", Show the spoiler
too many will make heroes of the protagonist. In reality, Sheeran is a sociopath. He murders his best friend, made even more pathetic when in the final moments Hoffa's one reassurance is Sheeran's presence. And for this sin he dies alone, with no friends or family.

The scenes with the priest are powerful. He's doing what he did as a killer - mindlessly copying and reciting what he is told to do, hoping it will pay off, even though it never does. He leaves the door opened a crack at the end, hoping goodness will finally enter. It won't.

One problem I had is that the youth-ifying CGI isn't super effective because they all still move around like old men. If anything, DeNiro & Pacino were distracting. I was much more impressed by Ray Romano and Joe Pesci, as well as Stephen Graham, who is always great.

I do appreciate the acting and yes, the end had some good moments. Maybe I was expecting too much, but it was just so so for me.

Watched some of Mary Poppins yesterday

Great film, but it left me thinking..... if Native Americans and black people are allowed to be offended by Disney, how about bullying the British auther of MP into agreeing to a film, turning it into a light comedy musical about chimney sweeps, bag ladies and the Suffragettes, and then casting an American with a comedy cockney accent?

Native Americans never had to put up with Dick van Dyke playing a Sioux warrior

Instead they had Johnny Depp playing Tonto.

The Rise of Skywalker . Dear God. Is actually worse than The Last Jedi lol. I'm so glad it's over, maybe next time don't start a trilogy with just one movie planned and no plan.

But The Mandalorian gives me hope that something good can still be done with Star Wars

Just been to see it this evening.

First red flag should have been how brief the opening titles were. I was sure there was more happening than the 2/3 paragraphs that described the thin plot...obviously not.

First half hour to 45mins I couldn’t stand. Too choppy. You could see they were struggling with the lack of footage of Princess Leia and maybe did t want to resort to a full CGI version. The pacing of it all was a bit rushed.

It picked up when Rey back flipped over Kylo Ren’s fighter and I enjoyed the middle bit before the inevitable intergalactic battle that we have seen numerous times before.

Glad it’s over. 3 decent films out of a possible 9 I guess.

I am assuming you are referring to the first three, Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi?

Yeah but only Londoners would notice the dodgy accent and they were a tiny percentage of the viewers. Besides, it was such a wonderful film, you could forgive them anything.

( assume you’ve watched ‘ Saving Mr Banks’ ?)

Oh yeah. Of course.

Although I thought Force Awakens was alright.

Still great history and one of America's most high profile unsolved murders
