New Indiana Jones (no spoilers, see note)

New Indiana Jones (no spoilers, see note)

Postby Reverend Gooner » Fri May 23, 2008 7:23 pm

I have just seen the new Indiana Jones movie and it is great :)

All the critics and doubters have been really harsh, it does not set the world alight but it is damn good fun and Harrison Ford has still got it.

I would recommend anyone who loves the series to watch it at the cinema rather than waiting for dvd, it is worth it

Has anyone else seen it? Have any preconceptions?

Note: This may and probably will contain spoilers in the future, before anyone posts or wants to discuss anything specific them PM me, i will change the brackets to (contains spoilers) and then post away. There are some good things to talk about

In case anyone cares, this was filmed in New Haven, Connecticut...about 45 minutes from my place (and where Yale University is located). I was going to go down to try to be an extra but it didn't work with my schedule

I'm goin to see it on Monday, all expences paid for by my better half :D

Should be proper! I love Ray Winston, in a totally non gay way, even though he is a big dirty spammer he's a good lad! Actually speaking of Ol Ray my sister actually thought he looked like he does in BeoWolf til my bruv showed her him in The Departed.

Just got back form watching it and i have to agree its great fun. If your not a fan of the old ones I doubt you like this one. You have to watch it in the cinema because of the way its shot I think the effects will look terrible on dvd or a bad screener.

It has over the top action and is packed with great one liners, gotta love it

Let me stop you there.

I don't care.

:P

Just kidding! They filmed Robin Hood Prince of Thieves near me, and they were advertising for "yokels". I remember it well, sadly, I was at Uni at the time :(

It is worthy of a place in the series yes definately

For me in order of greatness

1) Last Crusade
2) Raiders of the lost ark
3) Crystal skull
4) Temple of doom

No disrespect to the temple of doom, they are all great films but it is just not as good as the rest, plus that actress is awful.

Yeah, but Raiders has that boulder scene at the beginning that everyone loves, the bit where he shoots the sword-swooshy guy which is priceless, and MELTING NAZI'S for Pete's sake!

I say again, Melting Nazi's! :sundae:

the guy with the sword was hilarious. i heard that he (harrison ford) had some problems with the stomache when they were filming that scene. they first wanted to do sth different, but he couldn't do that so he just shoot the guy! the rest is history!

Yes the sword scene is legendary :rofll: and as has been said the Hitler signing is too. I just love the banter between Ford and Connery in the last crusade, brilliant stuff.
