Thought Budapest was brilliantly quirky and the settings were superb - I'd like that to win something.

Gone Girl was disappointing imo; I hope best actress goes to someone other than the chick who played batshit crazy Amy.

Even if you didn't like Gone Girl I struggle to see how you can't appreciate how good Rosamund Pike's acting was in that film. She was amazing.

Didn't find her character interesting at all, don't know what else to say, just didn't enjoy her. Thought things got especially bland when she reunited with her old BF.

I'm on tapatalk right now so I'll do my list later. Just some of my thoughts on the nominations:

Apparently the academy refused to even CONSIDER Birdman for best original score. I thought it was brilliant and even the symphonic parts were well done. You have to applaud the fact that they had the guts to do it as well. I haven't seen all the others in the list so I can't say they deserved to win but they definitely deserved a nomination.

Also, like others mentioned Fiennes was robbed of his nomination. Brilliant performance, but unfortunately comedy doesn't always get the treatment it deserves in these categories.

No Birdman nomination for editing?

No Lego Movie?

The Academy has generated a lot of heat with their nominations this year. It's also filled with white men - that was one of the allegations. Selma, Mr. Turner; no PTA.

The royal ignore of Gone Girl and Fiennes not being nominated for Best Actor headline the edition. My best actor goes to M. Gustave H - too good.

You uncultured peasant.

Seriously though, go see Birdman. One of the greatest films to come out in years.

I don't watch movies that often really. Comedy if anything. Although that new gambling one sounds okay that's due out. Cinema ends up too expensive to go to these days for a couple of hours out. I'd rather wait a few months until someone has a good copy online. :p
