If so, Rocky or Rambo? Which series do you prefer?

As a standalone, 'course Rocky 1 is one of the best movies ever made and First Blood is a cult classic.

But I'm talking about the character and the entire series. Or, you can rank your favorite movies amongst them too.

Sorry, missed this thread lately. I was a massive Rocky fan, completely blew me away and loved Rocky ll even more with that music and training scene. I read the book First Blood before the films came out and enjoyed the First Rambo film, but was never going to surpass my Rocky experience.

It's not a must see for me hence I didn't go opening day but I'll probably go next weekend.

Yes I saw it on Friday.

Watch it.

Incredible film but not in the "Marvel" way, its not really comic book style its more of a serious film.

On its own it def gives you something to think about, as part of the comic book movies it lives up to that promise that you can take those movies and do 20 different things with them, they don't all have to be children friendly etc, they can be serious too.

Which is great because it expands the horizon of how these great characters can be portrayed in film to keep things fresh and entertaining, this one in particular is "surprising" not just entertaining.

As impactful as Marvels best but in a completely different way, which over all is good for the genre.

Just watched john Wick 3 after watching the first and second past couple of days.

Ridiculously fun and enjoyable. Why people trying to kill him don't just shoot him instead of fighting hand to hand combat, I don't know but you need to make a movie I guess.

Loved it.

Keanu ready to hit the big time. Marvel awaits.

The origin film I didn't want but my god it was fantastic.
Phoenix is a superb joker, his laugh alone is brilliant.
This is the dark version of the DC universe I want, should be used as a blue print for all future DC films.
A must see

Show the spoiler
It was great movie. Human who had mental disorder that tried to be a good person but society killed his humanity.

Yeah I've always been more of a Marvel fanboy > DC but in this film, DC went where Marvel dares not tread and was a triumph because of it.

Marvel imo are beginning to box themselves into their Disney sand box and are also getting too politically correct on top of it, that's going to hurt them moving forward if their going to be so cookie cutter and predictable.

DC tried to "do a Marvel" and have failed spectacularly because they didn't world build properly or have a threaded master plan, i.e a Kevin Feige, so they're hedging their bets with the Justice League and going back to their Nolan inspired roots of one off's, which is what DC are actually good at.

After reading 'The Shining' I can see why Stephen King hates the movie.

Kubrick butchered it.
