Looking at the pictures Lewis Hamilton was testing with the old rear wing. Whereas Pedro de la Rosa was testing the new look high rear wing.

Love the look of some of the cars this year, kinda old skool.

I really don't like the massive front wing, it makes overtaking up the inside much more risky and i would hate drivers to be put off the epic overtakes because of it.

I don't know about the KERS thing. If a safety car comes in then as soon as it goes in you are going to have some superboost nightmare. I would hate to see it become a farce.

Also if 2 cars are close together in the last few laps then it could be a bluffers game as to when and if they use it. It may be exciting to watch but drivers could panic and races be ruined.

Button shakes down new Brawn car at Silverstone

Just hours after it was announced that the former Honda team will compete this season, Ross Brawn’s men were already hard at work shaking down their new car ahead of the season opener later this month. Friday’s private test took place at Silverstone, close to the British team’s Brackley headquarters.

Jenson Button, who has been retained to race for the new team, took charge of the Mercedes-engined BGP 001. Team principal Brawn and Button’s team mate for the 2009 season, Rubens Barrichello, were also in attendance as the team’s on-track preparations for the Australian Grand Prix finally got underway.

Following Friday’s outing the team will journey to Spain, where they will join their rivals and test at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya for four days from Monday.

McLaren look in trouble but i hear they haven't used their new aerodynamics package yet so maybe they are going to be late arrivals on the scene.

The Brawn times look great but testing doesn't normally mean much, if i remember rightly BMW were poor in testing last year and look what their first half of the season was like.

This could be a very open season although i read in the latest autosport magazine that the new rules might actually split the field even more than before, we will have to see.

Shame that Nelson Piquet only went out once, i think his season is even more important than Alonso's career wise.

McLaren look desprate to be honest. I mean pouring paint over the car to try and work out whats wrong with the aerodynamics is shocking. McLaren really look like they've been caught on the back foot.

I know they have a new aerodynamics package coming but there is no more testing now. None during the season either. It's a massive gamble i just hope it pays off.

Thing is that ladbrokes still have them at second favourite odds and this is taking into consideration testing as Button is the 5th favourite driver and Brawn GP is the fourth favourite team, even ahead of renault.

Why haven't they upped the odds? Is it because they hope people don't know about their woeful testing or that they don't think it is representative?

Also have you got a link to that paint story, that sounds funny :)

I heard that yesterday. Seems like it's playing into Ferrari's hands.

Interesting test times, Cheesy. Ferrari posted two early times and then Brawn also posted well. Massa looks consistent.

I need to find some linkage, but on the radio just now, they stated that the drivers championship would now be decided on the amount of wins, and not the current points tally.
