Formula One Chat 2017

Postby Santi » Sun May 28, 2017 7:37 pm

Can't see one for this season and more wanted to mention about the Indy 500 race but we should have one of these anyway.

Vettel won again today, Ferrari are well and truly back and Hamilton is struggling so far.

@Indy 500 - typical for Alonso...even over in the USA a Honda engine blows up and costs him the race. He lead for a large part of it and still had a chance of winning with 20 laps to go before it blew up. He finished with the fastest average lap time (180 laps) if nothing else.
Not bad for his first try at it.

That Wehrlein crash was something. What are the odds of that? Glad he's okay

Awesome race lewis super unlucky, vettel deserved a much harsher penalty.

Yup they only even gave him his penalty as soon as Hamilton had to pit.

Hamilton cruises to victory, vettel suffered last lap puncture, lead cut to a point.

Mercedes car has been a lot better last few races hopefully Hamilton takes over from now.

Well done Hamilton. Bottas was 6-7 seconds down but he kept his word.

I love how Kimi's turning into a grumpy old man

Such a crap GP. How can a car with mechanical issues back up a pack of 4 cars for 20 laps. No room for overtaking unless in a massively superior car. Something needs to be done about turbulence/wake issues otherwise we'll end up with processions on these narrower tracks.
Class decision from Hamilton but questionable when in a title fight (contrast that with Ferrari and Raikkonen).

Great race today, Hamilton did phenomenally well to keep vettel behind him at the safety car restart, in his prime atm he should be in control of this championship after vettels spoilt brat antics.

Glad for him to get the record, doesn't reflect the true quality of the driver of course.

Senna and Schumi both comfortably better. I feel the overall quality of F1 has dropped massively in the last 10-15 years...only Alonso could really compete if this was back in the early 2000's imo.
