There must be a following for the crème de la crème of motorbike racing on here - and for those who aren't up to speed:
MotoGP
Reigning champ Casey Stoner, riding atop his factory Honda, is just on top of the premier class which has just had the engine size increased. 2010 champion Lorenzo is a point off the top on his factory Yamaha. Icon Valentino Rossi continues to struggle against his factory Ducati, but had a good race in Estoril.
Of the British riders, Cal Crutchlow has been knocking on the door of the factory sides with his satellite Yamaha. He's managed two 4th place finishes, and finished 5th in the most recent race - and continues to search for his first podium.
James Ellison has yet to pick up a point on his CRT Aprilia, failing to get his bike across the line in the last 2 races.
Moto2
Marc Márquez - last season's runner-up in the class - is already beginning to look like a champion on his Suter, having picked up 70 of 75 points possible so far. He is being by another Spaniard, Pol Espargaró - whose brother Aleix competes in MotoGP. Thomas Lüthi is also competitive, and could well ride himself into play within a couple of races.
Scott Redding of Britain had a disappointing race last week, but is having a good season so far anyway. Bradley Smith's Tech 3 bike looks uncompetitive this year, and as a result he has been well off where he'd like to be - given that he'll be stepping up to the top class next year.
A third Brit, Gino Rea, has just entered the class. He did well at Estoril and picked up a point, and is currently leading his experienced teammate Anthony West in the overall standings.
Moto3
Moto3 is a new class for this season, replacing the former 2-stroke 125cc championship.
Initial favourite Maverick Viñales, the 17 year-old from Figueres in Spain, is currently 2 points off the pace of 'senior' German rider Sandro Cortese. Not to be discounted though is extremely promising rookie, the Italian 16-year old Romano Fenati - who finished his first ever race in the class in 2nd, and won his next one. He crashed out of race 3 early on, but remains just 12 points behind Cortese.
Danny Kent and Danny Webb are the British representatives for Moto3, with Kent doing well on 16 points, with two 8th place finishes on his KTM. He'll look to push on from here and try to get a ride in Moto2 next season.
Danny Webb has had a difficult season so far on his Mahindra, failing to pick up a point. He has reason to be optimistic though with the team beginning to show signs of promise, but still cautiousness prevails.
Hopefully that'll get you up to speed. The races, practice and qualifying are all shown live on BBC - enjoy.
If you haven't given it a try thus far, I strongly encourage you to give it a watch, especially the Moto2 for sheer thrills.
