McLaren given suspended race ban

McLaren have been given a suspended three-race ban for misleading stewards at the Australian Grand Prix by motor sport's governing body, the FIA.

The British team admitted five charges of breaching Formula One rules at a special inquiry on Wednesday in Paris.

The penalty will only be enforced upon Lewis Hamilton's team if "further facts emerge" about this incident or if there is a "further breach" of the rules.

Bit harsh imo,I think a one race ban and a hefty fine would have been enough.
This would have never happend if it were Ferrarri. :lipssealed:

Got it in one there Lil'Mo.

My Uncle has said he won't go to any races this season - first time in about 20 years - it's a shame because this season has the potential to be the best f1 ever.

The year before last a great season and classic end was tainted because of the whole spygate affair.

Last season - another great season - but to many penalty's and deductions handed out during the season. Ultimatly having a say on the title.

The FI need to sort things out. Even the diehard fans are getting fed up with this.

It's bollocks, but at the end of the day McLaren need to stop being such idiots. Maybe if they stopped breaking the bloody rules, this sort of thing wouldn't keep happening to them?

I can understand what you guys are saying about McLaren keeping their noses clean but in F1 all teams "float" the rules - on the track McLaren seem to pick up stop-go penalties or fines for actions on the track - yet other teams get away with the same thing.

Eh? This isn't harsh. A suspended ban means nowt unless they start lying again. F1 can be inconsistent with rules, i grant you, but frankly McLaren deserved what they got for this incident.

They got off lightly. How can it be harsh when nothing actually happened to them?
