Twitter rumours thread

Postby AFC10 » Wed Jul 11, 2012 11:18 am

Don't know whether its been discussed before but I think a 'Arsenal 'twitter' rumours' thread in the Rumour mill would be a good idea for our transfers or anything to do with out club. Seen a lost of threads (including my posts) being taken over by just rumours from twitter instead of actual links ect.

Just an idea.

Then there should also be a thread for all the unreliable sources: Caught offside, daily mail, tribal football etc.
They cause just as much confusion

Nope. Go ahead. But call it 'unreliable sources'... We all know that Twitter can be just as reliable/unreliable as some websites

I would also suggest that the forum could have an "approved list" of (usually) reliable sources. That way people who arent interested in wading through pages of crap to get a reliable updade, dont have to. All other sources should go in the "unreliable" thread.

By reliable i mean proper oldskool and with a decent reputation. BBC, Independent, Guardian, etc etc and the club website of course

Great idea. And the one by UFGN is spot-on.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

No. We need something to think and talk about.

I don't like the idea as it will just be one thread full of various shit rumors that will be hard to read. Most rumors are shit anyway, so why not just keep it the same, they are just rumors after all, no need to separate which ones we think are reliable, because that is an argument in itself. I say keep it the way it is.

I'm for the idea. Any rumours that have any weight at all behind them will be in a news article and thus can get its own thread, I'm just bored of hearing we're after someone only to find it's only coming from a handful of spastics on twatter

Be good if the rumours forum was invisible to people with less than 10 posts or something. Although I guess that wouldn't stop the people who sign up just to post a WUM doing it elsewhere on the forum
