And really I havent seen any evidence at all of people botheing to filter what they post on GW. Every last bit of nonsense off Twitter seems to end up on here.

It was a suggestion I made when this argument cropped up a week or so ago, which as I said and is clearly evident by your quote above; was typically ignored and not even responded to.

As Zedie said it's all one big Media gloop now. What one person finds on Twitter, someone else may see, in the Independent.

Ergo it would make the entire Rumour Mill redundant if we made a separate thread for Twitter Rumours and/or filtered what 'rumours' to post depending on where they came from.

Twitter usually picks up the stories from elsewhere... And vice versa (Papers/SSN pick up some stuff from Twitter)

SSN is also from time to time, full of shit. Blogs are sometimes full of shit too. As are newspapers. We all know this.

My point is Twitter is no different than any other media any of us pull "Rumours" from...

A perfect example is that @JavierPerez108 guy. When he tweeted the Suarez/Holtby stuff, no-one believed him.

But as soon as French Journalist/Reporter Philippe Auclair started talking about it, it apparently had some truth to it. - However he got all his info from reading the Javier Perez account.

I'd say rumours from forums/blogs claiming to be press are worse than than claims from twitter.

When people talk about twitter they usually start with 'rumour on twitter is that...'. When people talk about places like caughtoffside they quote them as if they are reputable news sources - which they aren't.

So can anyone explain why yesterday a guy started a thread about Paulinho possibly signing for us (Which has come from a fake of twitter) then it got deleted almost imediately?

Nope not joking, not saying there isn't one, but I did a quick search and didn't find that guy. I see stuff on him now, but I never heard of him until then. But bottom line he just had a title and nothing else, plus add to the fact that it was a new poster. If you find anything else with quotes or link feel free to post it again.

It did come across my mind, that a member here created a new account to post some silly rumor in hopes that we would move it in an attempt to prove a point about this whole twitter rumor thing. But surely people have better lives than that eh?
