Klitschko eyes return, targets rematch against Joshua

Wladimir Klitschko is contemplating a sensational return to boxing and has been in talks with Anthony Joshua over a potential rematch, Daily Mail reports.

The former heavyweight world champion hung up his gloves after being stopped by Joshua in a epic clash at Wembley last year, but now seems tempted by the possibility of getting a second bite at the cherry amid uncertainty over the Brit’s next opponent.

Joshua had his heart set on a blockbuster clash for all the marbles against Deontay Wilder in the spring next year but now finds himself in no man’s land with the WBC champion keen to restart negotiations with Tyson Fury following their controversial split-decision draw in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is narrowing down the list of options as they look for a credible name to put in front of the unified champion at Wembley on April 13 and claimed that Klitschko is keen to throw his name into the hat.

Hearn told iFL TV, “He wants to come back. I think he text AJ and said, “I wanna come back, I feel like I beat everybody in the division right now.”’

Any attempts to lure Klitschko out of retirement over the past year had fallen on deaf ears but the Ukrainian now appears to be seriously considering it with a shot at redemption on the cards.

Yeah he's old but i wanna see it anyway.

Jeez no thanks, this smacks of a money only fight.

Tbf though he did put up a worthy fight, but unless Wlad is planning on coming back properly then I don't see the point.

Vitali was often fun to watch but Wladimir is pure boredom.

Well would you look at this? Surprise, surprise

Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that Joshua is more than willing to fight trash-talking, Brooklyn-based heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller at Madison Square Garden this spring.

World Boxing News was the first to report Monday that Joshua is seriously contemplating boxing Miller in his next fight in the United States.

Jarrell Miller, not Chisora, not a Whyte rematch which would've been bad enough.

Jarrell Big Baby Miller.

Just lol, nothing more to say.

So Chisora v Whyte next. Interesting that Haye has been training Whyte and has him looking in considerably better shape than in previous fights. Whyte has looked v good in recent fights though so favourite to win.

Anyone fancy Whyte?

Chisora looked in great shape, first time he's looked better than his opponent.

Think Del Boy might nick this one if Hearn doesn't get up to his usual tricks with the judges.

Warren's got a cracker of a fight on too.
A new era.

Joshua has April booked at Wembley, not sure how this rumour could be true, unless their cancelling Wembley due to lack of a big name?

Again though, your acting like that's his fault, he's called out Wilder, offered him the date, Wilder wants Fury so he can get his ego back intact ........ how is that Joshua's fault?

You really need to check your agenda on this one, its oozing out of your pores.

You may not like Joshua and that's fine, but if the weathers cold your pinning that on Joshua, it looks desperate.

Hearn wants to milk the money making machine as long as possible. His old man Bazza gave the game away.

Notice how he's now pushing hard for Wilder cause he knows Wilder has a duty to rematch Fury.

So he has to fight an actual pubber in Big Baby Miller because he can't fight Wilder?

That is an absolute farce and has nothing to do with the Wilder/Fury saga, Miller is a joke opponent.

He's not fighting Miller!!!

If he fought Miller it would be to fight in America for marketing purposes, but seeing as he's not fighting in America but Wembley then it'll be someone else.

Tbf I wouldn't mind him fighting Miller if he's forced to wait for Wilder / Fury, what else is he supposed to do? he's beat everyone else.

Also on a side note Miller is only in the picture because he's controlled by Hearn and Hearn gets double the fee if he has two fighter on the same card.

He basically gives the whole story here ................

https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/4639 ... der-fight/

Miller in NY will only be considered if he can't get Wilder or another big name.
