The general boxing thread

98-93 for Taylor is a joke.

Unbelievable... Whyte was better than ever before, putting on a boxing clinic, hurting Povetkin, put him down twice, and then... boom.

Don't think he landed a single clean punch before that.

Right on the button.

Whyte had him beaten as well.

But if Povetkin can catch him like that imagine what Wilder would do to him.

Anyone can get caught and Povetkin is an experienced high level boxer capable of pulling off sweet moves like that.

Whether lightening strikes twice we'll have to see in the December rematch.

I expect Whyte to win that, usually the guy controlling the fight will win 8/10.

I feel sorry for Whyte, he's been no1 contender for what 2 years pretty much and has been screwed out of his title shot, but if he beats Povetkin he'll be back on track.

Povetkin knocked Joshua down didn't he?

Love Sky pundits almost reading out an obituary of Povetkin’s career just before he sparked him

Basically saying he’s a passed it, washed up HW leading up to the fight then straight after the KO they’ve angled it to “it was always a 50/50 fight”

He didn't. He wobbled him in the first few rounds but Joshua never hit the ground.

As for Whyte, has nobody to blame but himself. Ducked Ortiz final eliminator, didn't take the Joshua rematch, fails a drug test, then complains he can't get a title shot. The whole narrative Eddie built around him being a victim of the sport was nonsense.

In Eddie's garden, coasting to victory, Sky commentators moaning about 1000 days bla bla... SLEEP BUDDY

One of the more satisfying moments in boxing for me.

Has Dillian Whyte woken up yet?

Daniel Dubois vs Ricardo Snijders later on BT Sport so I'm expecting a crazy KO.

Dubois stops the tomato can at the beginning of round 2. Probably could have stopped him in the first 30 seconds of the fight. Complete mismatch.

Hopefully we will now get to see him fight someone with a pulse (Joyce) before Frank stat pads his record to 50-0. Absolutely embarrassing that this was the headliner.

Eh

No need for a third fight anyway, Fury won twice.

Bring on Joshua.

This.

Lets be honest, I thought Tyson boxed as well as he could in the 1st fight and I did wonder if he could pull off that performance again ......... then he changed tact and just decided its quicker and easier just to walk Deontay down and beat him up lol.

I mean Wilder's only chance was to hunt Fury down, now Fury's taken even that away from him there is no need for a 3rd because all that is for Wilder is a cash maker at this point, he needs to grow the fk up, stop being played by his team and start targeting Joshua as well as Fury, just because his team won't deal with Joshua because they don't want DAZN to get the fight its silly, idiot walked away from £100m just so his handlers can stick a finger up at DAZN, Wilder got robbed of his chance and he's looking hella stupid right now.

Imagine if he accepted the £100m (like that's a chore) he could of been undisputed, unified HW champ if he beat Joshua.

Fury vs Joshua is all there is now.

Absolute mega fight, for all the marbles.

Good. Bring on the undisputed fight. Meanwhile, Wilder should move on and fight Andy Ruiz. He will flatten him and he's back in it. I still want to see Wilder vs Joshua at some point, even if Joshua loses to Fury.

Disgrace of a decision.

What a farce. Theres few highlights of him even hitting him.

Boxing is dead! The transition to UFC being the leader in combat sports has already long happened and now cemented.
