Khan fight...

In a very good dust up against Danny Garcia. He got sent to the floor 3 times and the ref stopped the fight in the 4th.
Actually thought Khan might've weathered the storm but he was taking some punishment.

Khan gets KO'd

Postby Arsenal Tone » Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:12 am

I've recorded it, was trying not to see result but the headline gave it away LOL

He hasn't lived up to the hype from that olympics silver.

Oh dear. That is not good at all. I am no Boxing expert but i think there are no great fighters anymore in the lightweights. So if he was as good as people were saying he is, He would beat them all. I do not like saying that as he is from my Birthplace.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

Didn't he get taken to hospital? Ive got it on record so not seen it yet, my chap watched it when he got up through night with little one and said Khan's corner wanted him to quit and he wouldn't.

He went to hospital for a pre-cautionary MRI but he was released as there was only minor injuries. Credit to Khan for carrying on to the fourth round though, the way he looked out of it at the end of the 3rd looked like it would be stopped.

Oops sorry, didn't realise anyone except me was interested because everyone but me was interested in the Haye v Chisora fight....

Couple of things: I think the ref stopped it too early. I reckon Khan could've come through that bad period and Garcia was definitely punching himself out. But that guy has power I both fists. Not one of the punches which floored Khan landed flush on the jaw or temple, it was just the pure force and power took Khan down.

Jonny Nelson had said before the fight that Khans training camp didn't look like all was well. There was a clip of him sparring with an amateur and he was getting hit, many times.
Freddie Roach wasn't present for the whole camp as he had other boxing commitments.

But notwithstanding Khan was beaten by the better man.

I would of thought the ref would of stopped it the round before if any. I didn't think he looked that bad when the ref stopped it and Khan was looking at him saying I'm fine, wasn't even stumbling.

I feel khan struggled to say he's fine.

Its a hard one for the ref. If he let's it carry on and khan gets a serious head injury, its the ref in trouble for letting him take the punishment. I always try to respect refs for stopping fights in boxing no matter how I feel about it.

Honestly couldn't believe he lost that, he was I. control and looked solid for 2 rounds until Garcia hit 1 lucky punch which changed the match. Don't know where Khan will go from here to be honest, I'm sure he'll bounce back but I reckon he'll go up a division.

Quite pissed I've literally just woke up too realising I lost quite a bit on this fight!

Khan's fiance and her whole family flew out to watch the fight.

Has anyone seen Khan take a punch and not fall apart?

Against Maidana he fooled everyone into thinking he had a chin.

Sadly its still as fragile as it always was.

Other fighters have come back and had good careers. No reason why Khan can't. He's only 25.

I do not know what he does next though. He will probably end up with 4 or 5 fights with nobodys. He will easily win them to once again think he is better than what he is. His career is in tatters.
