David Haye vs Wladimir Klitschko

Yea I didn't actually want to refer to the Valuev fight, obviously Haye showed he could get rounds under his belt, but how many 12 rounders will he have like that?

I see it a little like Ricky's issue with cuts. People were still saying "oh but he could get cut, and it'll end a fight one of these days", but they took steps to avoid it (extra vaseline, looking away when he's in the clinch). From what Booth's said in the past I think they've realised it was an issue and have addressed it, people will always talk about it though. I think we'll find out in this fight whether it's still an issue or not.

C'mon the Hayemaker!!!

I think this one will go to atleast the 6th round becuase in the inital stages, haye will struggle to break down Klitcho's defense.. But I still see haye winning by way of knockout.

Ditto. I think it would be suicidal for Haye to go in too hard in the early rounds. The reach advantage is ridiculous, he'll get tagged! He'll be fighting on the outside as he was against Valuev. That'll be the only similarities between the fights though.

:dontknow:

I'm going to a pub/sports bar in Canterbury, not sure about the big chains. Can't see why any O'neils wouldn't be showing it.

O Neils may be a good call, I am not sure if boxing is the kind of thing pubs like to show as the price must be massive if it is £15 privately and it probably won't bring in as many punters as say footy. There is a sports bar in piccadilly but I would rather stick to south east London if poss.

I just rung a pub in Greenwich who are big on sports yet they said the price of the boxing is just too expensive for them. Many places will probably think the same apart from the central London ones.

The Sports Bar (Haymarket I think you're referring to?) would probably be your best 'official' bet.
Wouldn't surprise me if you find somewhere off the beaten track locally that'll show it.

Do they not just have to buy the fight for £15 like the rest of us? :dizzy:

Nah, commercial rates apply. They'd be making money from televising it and selling beverage.

The oktoberfest bar in Fulham looks like a good bet too, you have to prebook and the commentary is in German but it looks fun with themes waitresses and a German band before the fight.

We just don't want to go too far as my mate is working the next day.

I refuse to pay the rates for pay-per-view. I really miss watching boxing. That was the best thing about Setanta.

I didn't think they'd be too worried about not pulling in punters on a Saturday night

Oh, and please don't mention Greenwich in any of your posts... there are only a few things I miss about S.E London, but Greenwhich Park is a big one :(
