David Haye vs Audley Harrison

David Haye vs Audley Harrison

Postby Reverend Gooner » Tue Sep 07, 2010 12:23 pm

So the fight is on for the 13th of November

standard wrote:David Haye has vowed to end Audley Harrison's career after announcing today he will defend his WBA heavyweight title against the Olympic gold medallist.

Haye will take on Harrison at the MEN Arena in Manchester on 13 November after failing to agree terms with either of the Klitschko brothers for a world title unification fight.

WBC champion Vitali, 38, will instead face American Shannon Briggs on 16 October while IBF‑WBO king Wladimir, 34, boxes Nigerian Samuel Peter on Saturday.

Harrison's career has failed to live up to his own hype since he won Olympic gold in 2000. Although he took the European crown in April, Haye admits that the 38-year-old lacks credibility as a challenger.

“I don't think he deserves to fight me,” said the 29-year-old. “I don't think he's done enough in his career — but I'm happy to do my duty for the British people.

“The public want to see one final high-profile destruction of Audley Harrison, and I can assure them this will be the last time they ever see him in a boxing ring.”

Harrison countered: “If David Haye thinks I've taken this fight strictly for a payday, he is in for a rude awakening.”

So is Harrison destined to prove everybody wrong or is he destined to get KTFO?

According to his wiki Harrison is from Northolt. Haye is from Bermondsey.

Love that quote from Haye, I am definately watching this one.

Harrison does have a good punch though. It's litteraly just one punch, which he finds about 1 every 20-30 rounds but it's a f***ing good one.

I don't think he will be able to hold out Haye's punches until he finds his though. This should be over in 30 seconds unless Haye plays with him.

Yeah I saw that a few times on SSN some time last week. Haye should tell them winner takes all if they won't agree with 50/50. They won't agree to that either and then it will prove they are running scared!

I think he's the kind of boxer who would come out and say it as well as you can tell he desperatly wanyts this fight.

Any idea when the Klitschko's TV deal(s) end? If it's soon it may get sorted out anyway.

I wont pay to watch any of Harrision's fight.

Who remembers him Vs Matt Skelton (sure it was him) but it was the most boringist boxing ever, crowd were booing every round, none of them would punch and if they did it was a light punch with no power, aweful.

Was it the last fight against Sprott when he got battered all fight then in the last round hit him for the first time and nearly killed him?

Nah the Skelton fight was yonks ago...

I watched the fight v Sprott on Friday Night Fight on Sky, the most one sided fight ever until that punch...

Harrison didn't use his left (Or right) hand for 6 rounds, they thought it was broken... :tumbleweed:

It was his game plan from the start i think, he won't get that chance against Haye

He done a pectoral muscle, didn't break anything.

He deserves to be smashed for being a constant let down.
