Pacquaio v Clottey

Pacquaio v Clottey

Postby Libertine » Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:04 pm

Looking forward to watching this one (but i'm working tonight so i'll have to catch one of the re-runs).

Although this bout has the feeling of of being a semi final, as does Mayweather v Moseley on May 1st, i think it's an excellent fight in it's own right. Ticket sales for this fight in Dallas would suggest i'm not alone.

Clottey is a really tough opponent. He had an excellent win over Zab Judah in his penultimate fight before losing a split decision to Cotto last time out.
Clottey is much the bigger man and will considerably outweigh Pacquaio.

Pacquaio has been in fantastic form, has won his last 11 bouts and is arguably the best pound for pound fighter in boxing at the moment.

Clottey has never been stopped and i doubt Pacquaio will change that tonight but i do see Pacquaio pulling away in the championship rounds to win by a wide points margin.

I fully expect Paquaio to then fight Mayweather (providing he beats Moseley) in October/November.

Excellent performance from Pacquaio.
His attacks are just relentless.
Clottey couldn't keep him away long enough to get his own shots off.

I thought Pacquaio won the first 11 rounds and i thought they shared the last.

Yeah, you were pretty spot on with that.

I was happy Clottey made it to the end. He's cut from granite! But he must be hurting from all those body shots.

Spot on Gza, Clottey is hard as nails.
He certainly earned his money last night, he'll be pissing blood for days.
