Pacquiao v. Cotto confirmed

The fight will take place on November 14.

Two of the world's most exciting boxers placed together in the same ring in a recipe for a great fight, I can't wait for this one.

Any thoughts?

Pacquiao. Although Cotto was defeated by Margarito's loaded gloves I don't think he's got enough know-how to overcome Pacman.

I think Cotto, Berto, Maidana and Ortiz are the next wave after Pacman, Floyd and Marquez finally retire.

Yeah, I think the pacman will get the victory as well, but it should be entertaining. Cotto has a lot of heart, as was evidenced by the Clottey fight, and he may have some chance if he can control the fight with his jab, and back Manny against the ropes. I don't think it will be a walk in the park for Manny, but he should get over the line, he just has too much game.

Also, Margarito should be in jail for loading his gloves against Cotto. That is not what you consent to when you enter a boxing ring, and it had the potential to cause a lot more damage than it did. A year out of the sport is far too lenient for such a horrendous effort.

Despite the constant stories about Pacquiao having a bad training camp i fancy him to win around rounds 7,8,9.

As i've posted before, i think Cotto is damaged goods since the Margarito fight. He took the sort of beating that most fighters never recover from.

He showed against Clottey that, despite a new trainer, he still remains very easy to hit.
And no-one punches harder at these weights than Pacquaio.

I'd be surprised if it's as one-sided as the Hatton fight. Cotto is a very accomplished performer. If it weren't for his controversial loss to Margarito then I think folks would see this fight as a closer contest.

I'd say Cotto is at the head of the up-and-coming fighters probably waiting for Pacman and Mayweather to retire.

Indeed, I can't see Cotto doing any good.

Libertine is a very shrewd summariser within these boxing threads, he says R7-9, I'll stick my neck out and say sooner. In fact a flurry from the off could see this over within a round.......
