The general boxing thread

I'll give you my experienced opinion (if I do say so myself).

Anthony Joshua vs Usyk

Both boxers, AJ is more of a boxer puncher, AJ has height, reach and weight advantage, hits harder.

Usyk more skilled but his extra weight will slow down his speed, his boxing will be negated by AJ's reach and the risk he has to come up top with AJ's height.

Result: 12 RD decision for AJ or later round stoppage 8-9th onwards ......... but my money's on a points win for AJ.

I don't see any way for Usyk to win because to win he'll need to pull off combinations to rack up points and I don't see how he can close enough to AJ other than pecking one and away single shots.

If Usyk does overcome all of those disadvantages and wins ............. then he's quite possibly the greatest of all time, def in the conversation at the minimum.

Saw Joshua training on TV earlier. He looks leaner and lighter than I've ever seen him.

He doesn't want Usyk hitting and running, however that may be a mistake.

Why try to box the superior / lighter boxer? AJ's advantage is reach, size and power, if AJ gives up too much size he's moving to Usyks level, however ........... AJ still came in 17.5st and Usyk 15.10st so AJ still has the size and Usyk isn't a heavy hitter.

Just walk him down.

2.5 hrs to go, can't wait.

Some unknown pubber beats the breaks off Ricky Hatton's son, but judges rob him. Even the home fans booed the decision. Nothing new in boxing.

Are the same refs gonna be scoring Usyk or Joshua? No wonder Joshua is a big favorite. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this ends with a controversial decision win for Joshua.

The biggest problem is even if Usyk is outboxing Joshua he doesn't have the power to keep him honest and off him.

If Joshua is down on the cards he will probably be able to walk through Usyk's punches and get to him.

No, judges do ajs fight not the ref.

Agreed though, Hatton lost that fight, he's sht, worst fighter I've seen in a while.
