The general boxing thread

Be a good fight jr brings it, going to be hard for him though he is less skillfull and degale has a nice size advantage, he should be mixing it at MW.

On the positive for him degale does seem a bit past it, fades in fights and he doesn't have the powerful jab groves had to keep him honest.

Degale’s completely lost it

Eubank Jr isn’t even that good and he looks awful up against him

Hopefully degale has some sense and retires otherwise he is going to end up seriously hurt.

I can see exactly what Eubank's new trainer has taught him, he's taught him to fight on the outisde and only come in when the opening is there.

What surprised me more than anything is that Jr's outside game was beating Degales, a man who has fought that distance boxing all his career.

Jr started reverting to type more in the 11th and 12th round chasing james to get on the inside, but it wasn't so bad because he had the fight then.

Props to Jr, I could see he was fighting his instinct to go after James and stick to the game plan, so to be able to fight your own temptation and still win the distance battle is impressive, awkward fight for Jr when a guy doesn't want to box in your space and he still pulled it off.

If he can do that to Saunder's ...............

Yeah he improved a lot, 1st half of the fight they was patient, boxed and weren't looking for a ko every punch, 2nd half where they knew degale would fade they stepped it up and got on the inside more.

Defensively he was a lot better his punches for the most part especially in the first half of the fight when degale had life were more straight and less wild than before, less predictable to read and less risk of counter, constantly used his jab as a measuring stick as well, not seen him do that before.

He hasn't been with this guy that long, there could be more to come, I think he will beat saunders now, Saunders has been to part time, inactive and Ill disciplined and his moved to SMW, a heavier Saunders should favour jr.

Fury v Wilder rematch is off loooooooooool

Both waited til after AJ had booked a fight to call it off knowing if they called it off before the champ had a fight, the pressure on them to stop ducking would be immense

Absolute jokes

No denying now who ducked who

Its a shambles of biblical proportions.

I'm speechless.

............ and people blame AJ for fights not happening, when he's made more offers than a hooker on a busy street corner.

Fury couldn't even hold together a gimme fight for gods sake.

AJ is laughing his ass off at Deontay "no date" Wilder.

Wilder passed up a unification match ........... for this??? :rofll: :rofll:

Fury got a good deal can't blame him.

Wilder is being held back by his management ATM, apparently he is a free to change network, if he goes to Dazn the fight can happen and he will make mad money.

Wilder is held back by his ego, he hates Hearn because Hearn is a good businessman and Wilder takes it personally that this "white man" as he puts it won't roll over and give him what he wants.

That racial BS might go down well on American networks but that goes down like a lead balloon with Brits, we don't recongnise this "race war" and so this type of rubbish falls flat ......... especially when Hearn dances to AJ's tune and AJ's counting that money that the "white man" made for him.

Deontay could make bank if he went with Hearn.

Tyson Fury with damage control comments.

"Tyson Fury has taunted Deontay Wilder over their botched heavyweight rematch, claiming he will only face the WBC champion once he's 'more well known in America'."

No mate, you ducked, there's no reason for the fight to be called off, even with the new deal, Wilder would fight on ESPN.

This is even worse .............

"Frank Warren told talkSPORT on Wednesday: 'It's not our doing. ESPN and Top Rank want to give Tyson an exposure fight in the States first"

You fkin what?? ......... do they not think the first Wilder vs Fury fight did that? this is beyond anything Hearn m of pulled, this is tragic.

I'm genuinely happy about this. Back when they made it a draw i said i didn't want them to have a rematch. Bring on Joshua/Whyte/Ortiz.

While on the other hand what seemed like a joke fight between Miller and AJ is now becoming interesting.

Yes obviously Miller only has a punchers chance, AJ should walk him but its more the occasion that's becoming interesting, first fight in America, MSG arena and AJ has turned road man on Miller after his shenanigans in the first Presser, in the 2nd one in England AJ turned it around nicely.

I honestly think this is going to be some cross Atlantic black on black crime, I think AJ is getting that familiar feeling that Afro Americans look down on Black brits like their weak sauce, I think that's p*ssed AJ off and he wants to rep for the mandem.

Honestly think he's going to smash Miller up badly, he was talking to Miller like he wants to end him in the 2nd presser.
