The general boxing thread

Toney is the don, probably better defensively than even Mayweather because he had an incredible defense standing right in front you, he didn't need to get on his bike, no one could ko him even at 40 out of shape fighting at heavyweight.

You have gone up in my estimation.

Agree 100% re his defense, stood in the pocket, didn't get hit and fired back with combos.

The best in-fighter of all time.

Much more fluid than Mayweather with his shoulder roll and transitioning to offense.

Pacquiao vs Broner January 19th.

Should be a good scrap, Pacquiao has slowed down enough to where it might be competitive.

Prime Pacquiao butchers Broner under 5 rounds.

Whenever I hear Broner's name I just sigh and roll my eyes.

That is fkin hilarious ............ they were all vacant titles ffs! lol

The only titles he actually won were the Paulie Malignaggi and Antonio DeMarco ones.

Hardly fearsome champions now are they.

Everyone he's ever fought who was worth a damn he's lost to.

I'm not knocking him, at least he's gone and done something, but if I judge him from an elite stand point he just doesn't cut it, too busy starring in rap videos and chasing Paulies exes to be a great fighter.

Lmao ok he is a proper tool.

Is Manny actually broke or something he has suffered some brutal ko's and shouldn't really being needing to fight now, sad to see.

Wot....no Wilder v Fury thread? Saw an interesting interview with Fury online it’s an hour long but very insightful. I saw Wilder v Ortiz and wasn’t impressed, but he is super scary and has a right hand that would literally split your head in two! Any predictions?

Think we quit having separate threads on fights mainly cos no f***er will stay up to watch a fight at 5am

Yeah I’m not going to watch..... the lead up is so painful but I think Fury could win this. He’s certainly quite a character and has an amazingly refreshing attitude to the game.

Fury has too much science for Wilder.

My only worry is his conditioning and lack of ring sharpness. If he gasses he will be stopped.

Still, Fury by TKO between the 9th and 11th round.

Long live the Gypsy King.

Not confident enough to bet on Fury by stoppage, especially picking specific rounds, but I might take a punt on him to win outright.

If we get anything similar to the Fury that beat Klitschko this will be easy. Is his new coach good enough? Has he ruined his body with drugs and extra weight? Has he taken enough time to prepare and is he really fully in shape? So many variables so no wonder he's not the favorite.
