I almost feel for the guy going trophyless for so long but he should be getting the same stick Ronaldo is getting for being undroppable. Held the team back the same way.

I don't he is nothing but a diving gimp, he was shite in this competition he deserves nothing as does Southgate he was rubbish. He has some great players to choose from but instead of being adventurous, he kept picking the same old shite and sticking to the same old negative tactics. Kane should never have been picked after the first game, he could have started Watkins, Palmer or Toney they all deserve to start over the serial diver Kane but they didn't so England got what they deserved for have a shite boring manager...Nothing. ;)

England have got to the last 2 finals of the Euros - both with incredible luck.
Same with the SF of the World Cup. Incredible luck
As soon as they played a good team they lost.

Gutted that Saka Rice and Ramsdale had to be pat of that dire squad of players.

Been a great month. Not the best of tournaments but football on most days. A bit of everything

Now we go back to the bore of club football and city winning everything and our lot doing an England. Talented players but manager holding them back.

Questions need to asked about the need for international football anymore - at least in the current format.
Most games were boring and very low quality.
Don’t see that there is a need for the Euros
Why not just the World Cup.

Gave Spain the throw in by hoofing the ball out in an attempted long range pass to Bellingham. This led to the goal.

Terrible distribution throughout the tournament.

Southgates record is decent compared to other England managers. Semi finals and finals. He's put us on the map. We're dining with the big boys once more but he hasn't got what it takes to take us to that next level. We need better.

Spain were there for the taking. Especially after we scored. Go in for the kill. We sat back once more.

It's not a great Spanish side. Yes best team in the tournament but not a great team. They have one player from the all conquering real Madrid team. And that's a right back. One from barca. And that's a kid who Shaw on one leg had on lock for most of the game. The rest? Error prone keeper. 2 CBs who play in Saudi. A LB who was rotten for Chelsea. Olmo plays for leipzig. No top club near him. Williams at minnows bilbao, morata has been mocked for years, don't even know where fabian ruiz plays.

We f***ked up. It hurts but we'll come again. 2026 with a new manager and we'll do it.

I have been very vocal about the dearth in talent in football and the dire state of national team football around the world.

These have been England's best chances to win things, when Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal have been so poor, not to mention the South American heavyweights. while these countries have largely had shit players to choose from (France and Germany perhaps not so shit) England have consistently had top players.

Spain were clearly the best team in the comp, no question. However England did push them to nearly 90 minutes, and the winning goal was within a hair's breadth of being called offside.

Considering ENG didn't exactly face the toughest competition before the final, they did well. Kane forced himself into the lineup same way he did for Spurs in the 2019 CL final.

The football would be worse.
Look at the Arsenal bench to see what play looks like when you only play together a fly shit of time.
You want better international football give them more games together.
You don't want them to play as much international football DONT complain about the quality

Please can we put 2024 in the books so the 1966 team can rest in peace? And maybe so Geoff Hurst can celebrate like they all deserve to again.

By the way, Laura Woods looks......blooming.
