Question. The CB let that shot go thru his legs. This happens often. Don't good defenders just block that?

Not necessarily, its 50/50. You can either gamble that he is going near post so stretch your leg out further to block the shot (widens your legs) or that he is going far post (closes your legs) or a bit of both.

Typically with an outstretched leg which every sensible defender will have there isna chance the ball finds its way through your legs, nothing much you can do about it if you commit to block

Lucky England is never a pen; sadly, cheating is rewarded with a place in the final. Saka has been a joy to watch especially as he has not gone to ground as much as he did in the prem let's hope he continues that next season. Will Southgate's luck hold out in the final he must practise the dark arts to get this far.

That'll be a new round of karma. This one is done. We can finally close the book on koeman and that decision in 1993.

If we get a bad decision in 31 years so be it

You see so many shots go through defenders legs. I don't think its because they are positioning the leg badly, I think they are swinging their leg across and it just travels past the block, because they mistime it. Bit like trying to to hit a cricket ball across the line.

Whatever, it was a lovely moment!

Never a pen?? I felt it was a pen from the outset as he raised his studs into the block.....which under the new laws, is a foul, is it not? (obviously it is!)

What part of that is cheating FFS? :dontknow:

If anything kane kicks him. Shouldn't have been a penalty but can't feel bad for koeman.

In real time it looked like a blocked shot, both players having raised feet. 100% fine. In the replays it looked as though Kane's boot followed through to the defender's boot, so again, no foul, correct decision. In slow-mo it looked like the defender caught Kane's boot which is a foul.

NOW - seeing as VAR is for clear and obvious errors, how on earth are you telling me it took a slow mo for the infringement to even become clear ?? Thats anything BUT a clear and obvious error, it should not have been awarded and the pundits (apart from Wrighty) were spot on to criticise the decision, it was NEVER a penalty.

Neville is right, players will have to stop defending because of fear of re-refereeing of games being done by VAR which we were told was not going to happen. Until they get ex-footballers managing VAR it will be the pile of poo it currently is, its a mess.
